    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel milage and IAT location

Fuel Milage I get less milage on winter grade fuel than on regular fuel. Sounds like your milage is about the same as mine. I usually run from 500 to 1000 miles a week on truckstop fuel only. They use conditioned fuel in the winter months, and when they change fuel, my milage changes. R. C.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Losing A/c every year...need new O-rings?

A/C Leaks. My 98. 5 would have to be recharged every couple of mounths. I replaced the evap. coil. Didn't change a thing. After two years we found that the Schrader valve on the low side was leaking when the A/C was turned off. Had to replace the complete hose assembly, just over $300. There...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Lost Top End Power

I had something happen the other day that bothered me. Coming out of Nashville on I-65 North, I noticed my truck was just a little slugish but not bad. Got into Ky. and climbing a slight grade, lost most of my power. Couldn't get over about 2000 rpm. Just wouldn't go. Good fuel pressure, EGT was...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Engine Miss

I replaced my VP44 last Dec. Before that the engine was smooth as silk. After the replace, the engine started to miss some, not on a regular bases thow. Some times it runs perfectly. The Insight program didn't show anything, so i'm going to run it till something shows up. Later,R. C.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 5spd Trans Seal

Does anyone have the number for the front seal and bearing in the NV4500. My clutch is graby on takeoff, and my bellhousing vent is wet. Truck has 183,500 miles on the stock clutch system so I may need a rebuild. Any advice on pilot bearings? Thanks in advance for any replies, R. C.

    Question on Airbag Failure???

My wifes Durango would do something like this. When she was going down the road, first the Air Bag light would come on, then the gauges would go dead, then the dingers would start. The problem always happened in this order, but all things started back working at the same time. Didn't have any...

    Air Condition Evaporator......!!!???

I replaced mine about three weeks ago. Big hassel, but not too bad. Total time, not counting pulling a vaccume and recharging, was around 6 hrs. I used a jackstand to support the dash on the right side and let the left side rest on the steering colume. Be very careful when removing the heater...

    Disassembled the AC....

    J. , check to be sure the vacume lines are connected and in the right location. The wifes Durango only blew in the floor and defroster once and i found a line off right above the gas pedle. She must have realy got on it hard that time :-laf . How long did the job take you? I was told about a day...

    Disassembled the AC....

Geno's has a filter kit for $49. I think I'm going to try one. I work around rock quarrys and the lime dust settles on the truck through the day and gets sucked in through the cowl vent. When it gets into the duct work, its hard as he!! to get it all out. Has anyone tried one of these vent...

    Air Filter question

The Fence Charger The car was an '86 Olds Cutlass. It had an on-board computer. I thought and thought, and finaly got mad enough that it didn't matter what happened. I hooked a fence charger to my wifes car one Sat. morning to teach her cats to stay off the car. It worked GREAT!!!:-laf :-laf Didn't hurt the cat, he got over it after a few days, and didn't want ANYTHING to do with any of the automobiles. Not a recomendation, just a thought, You know those...

    Does everyones throttle peadal rattle?

Mine (OURS),Her idea, not mine, rattles too. I found a thread once on the subject of Throtle Buzzing, but mine is more of a rattle. I'm going to put some silly-cone to work soon as I can. The little rattles get bothersome at times. Good luck, R. C.

Hopefully a simple front end question!!

Tire wear Kollmer, both camber and toe in will cause your tires to wear on either the inside or the outside edge. If the tires are wearing on both inside and outside edges, it could be low air pressure or not rotating your tires enough. I don't think a bad steering box can cause any kind of...

    Evaporater coil leaking

Has anyone had any trouble with the evaporater coil on your trucks? My A/C started leaking, so the A/C man added some dye to the system. When the A/C stoped working again we looked for the leak but couldn't find any. He said it had to be the evap. coil,Dodge's have a lot of trouble with them...
