Does everyones throttle pedal rattle?

My late 01 has a slight rattle in the go pedal, will stop if you put your foot under it. My dad finally bought a new pickup (02 4x4 q-cab cummins 5 speed). His pedal rattles loud, at any highway speed with the cruise set. It will stop when pressure is applied. How can we stop this noise? Also, what gives with the bare hood on the 02? Mine has insulation underneath, not the 02 though. Showed Dad and he was not too happy. By the way, dad's 91 Nissan 4x4 was still going strong until the frame broke for the 3rd time Friday. He really needed this CTD. But I don't think he will be seen on here. We visited this weekend and he asked me how to turn on the computer. Thanks.

My pedal vibrates also. I noticed the sound on a long trip last summer. Still havent fixed it yet. :(

I noticed it most when I ran out of OD at interstate speeds. (~68 - 2750rpm)

Try a search. This topic came up a year or so ago, I think some people were putting a dab of RTV silicon sealant on the cable to attach it to the pedal.

There is a TSB (can't remember the #) to fix the vibrating pedal. I think the cable gets re-routed and a couple of clips added.

Mine did too

The dealer fixed mine with the silcone trick. Makes no noise now. Never looked to see where he actually put it.

My 01 did the same thing when cruise control was on, dealer said they replaced a bushing in the pedel, never looked to see since it was under warranty. Problem has never come back yet.

My throttle pedal rattles with the cruise on too. Havent looked how to fix it yet, the silicone method sound kind of like a duct tape baling wire fix.

Mine (OURS),Her idea, not mine, rattles too. I found a thread once on the subject of Throtle Buzzing, but mine is more of a rattle. I'm going to put some silly-cone to work soon as I can. The little rattles get bothersome at times.

Good luck, R. C.
