    Vibration 65 to 75mph on 04

Take the front support bracket off that runs from the first bracket down the exhaust pipe from the engine to where it bolts to the transmission belly. That significantly reduced the vibration on my 2005.

    Vibrations can't be fixed

My TXDOT contact was Robert. He was very polite and professional. I don't know if he expressed any opinion to, or had any communication with the DC Negotiator during the pendency of my complaint. He only acted as a conduit for exchanging information between me and the Negotiator. After a few...

    Vibrations can't be fixed

My 2005 LWB SRW had the 70 MPH drone from the beginning. I realized what it was at 1800 miles and took it to the dealer. Most dealers, if they're honest, will tell you this is an issue with some 2003-2005 CTD's, especially those with an auto transmission. The dealer acknowledge I had "driveline...

    Running Board/Nerf Bar Question

I bought wheel to wheel SS step rails from Tech Tubes at http://www.techtubes.com/products.html I've had no problems with them and the prices beat Putco and many others.

    MPG 2wd vrs 4wd

JEly: That's the problem. If you do need it, you don't have it. I stuck my 2001 3500 5 or 6 times because of the heavy front end and had to have it pulled out. The $3100. 00 for 4wdr is MSRP; it will cost less than that after discounts/rebate is figured in. My $. 02.

    which oil?

I went to a quick lube place and checked their prices and products. Anyone ever heard of an oil filter brand called "Mighty"?

    315 questions

Thanks for the comments. However, what I was asking was, is there some benefit to having 315'S? Is it just for appearance or does the truck handle better/different?

    315 questions

315's What are the advantages of going to a 315 tire? Does it have any effect on the 70 mph Vibration issue?

Need advise on Buying New 2005 Dodge Cummins

Most important, if it is a 2005 and not an '06, drive it at 70 mph to 75mph and make sure it does have the vibration from the drivetrain/exhaust that is present in a number of the 2003 to 2005 CTD's. Dodge will fight you claiming it's "normal" and won't do anything to fix it after you've bought...

    05 Vibration from rear

Vibe Mike B: I had already done the thing you suggested. Take to 70+ and put it in neutral. The vibe goes away immediately. This is obviously a drive-train issue. I got the name of the Specialist who examined the truck even though I didn't see him. After talking with the DC Regional Rep, they...

    05 Vibration from rear

VIBE Update postscript: I forgot to mention that despite the DC Rep trying to convince me that the noise is "normal" I noticed the Specialist drove the truck 103 miles while it was at the shop and used a 1/4 tank of diesel fuel. Why would you drive 103 miles if it was a simple matter of being...

    05 Vibration from rear

11-03-2005 Vibe update: After filing a Lemon Law complaint regarding my 2005 CTD, 4 X 4, 48re, LWB/SRW truck, I finally got a call from the DC Rep requesting I bring the truck to a dealership so a Dodge Specialist mechanic could examine it. I took it there and dropped it off Monday night for...

    05 Vibration from rear

Mike B. From how the DC Rep talked, I'm not supposed to even see the specialist, I'm just to have my truck there for him to examine. I will try to talk to him, however, because I ought to be able to explain to him what is happening. I'm not sure what DC is trying to do at this point but I'm...

    05 Vibration from rear

10-27-2005 UPDATE on the vibration issue: Three weeks ago, I filed a Lemon Law complaint with the TXDOT agency in Austin, TX. Today, I got a call from the Dodge Rep who, up to now, had filed to ever respond to my requests to speak with him. He told me he wants me to bring the truck to the...

    06 4wd vibration??

I'm still trying to find out if anyone knows whether there was any change to the '06 models that would have eliminated the 03-05 70 mph vibration/drone issue. Anyone know?

    Are 2006's 4th Generation????

If the '06 CTD's don't have the '03-'05 vibe, they ought to be designated as 4th generation.

    Anyone balanced their driveshafts?

I'm not going to forget about the harmonic drone/vibe on my 2005 CTD 3500 SRW. I filed a Lemon Law complaint with the Texas Department of Transportation as of a week ago. If it turns out that the 2006 models don't have the vibe, I want to know what was changed on the '06's from the 05's...

    05 Vibration from rear

05 vibes I agree with TPappas. My truck apparently had it from the beginning, too. It had 262 miles on it when I bought it because it was transferred from another dealer to mine. I never dove it over 65 MPH until it had about 600 miles on it. I couldn't figure out what it was at first because I...

    05 Vibration from rear

05 Vibration Tim: Welcome to the club... ... ... ..... Put a few miles on between trips back to the dealer. I suspect you won't get them to even look at after awhile just like they did me. They said not to bring it back for the vibration because there's nothing they can do for it. Besides...

    05 Vibration from rear

05 Vibration MikeB: If yours is smooth as glass, then I should be able to have one too. That's all I've asked for. None of us would be complaining if this issue didn't exist.
