    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Another A/C problem

Thanks to all for the advice & information. This forum is awesome. Wanted to get it fixed quickly before at trip next weekend so I took it back to the shop. They gave me an estimate for replacing the evaporator (approx $1000) But it turned out to be a leak at the high pressure switch. $183 total...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Another A/C problem

Are you talking about the valves where you attach the gauges? Mine don't look like schrader valves. Nothing to tighten. It looks like a small ball check valve. Thanks for the info on the low pressure switch. Maybe I'll replace it.

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Another A/C problem

Had the A/C system serviced in my 02 2500 last October & now it's not putting out any cold air in normal or max A/C with the temp. controller at any position on the cold side. The shop supposedly put dye in the system but I haven't seen any evidence of a leak. Things I've checked. The fan clutch...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel Leak???

When I finished refueling my truck yesterday I noticed fuel running out on the ground. I could see that it was coming from the top of the tank where the electrical connector , check valve & fuel supply & return lines are but couldn't see where the leak was actually coming from. I moved the truck...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Vacumn Pump??

I did a little more reading about pump failures on the forum & then started the truck again but this time I reve'd it up to to about 1800 rpm & the steering started working normally. I worked it left & right & checked the fluid level again & it was down some so I topped it off. I took it for a...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Vacumn Pump??

Thanks for the responses. After I submitted the thread I did a little reading in the forum regarding this so I proceeded to siphon most of the fluid out of the resevoir & then removed the small strainer/check valve from the pump. It was reasonably clean. So I cleaned it up & reinstalled it...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Vacumn Pump??

Disregard my previous post. I looked a little closer. I thought both systems may of had a vacumn assist but more than likely I had a brain fart. When I pulled the dip stick out of the powersteering pump the fluid ran out on the ground. The last time I checked it it was the proper level now...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Vacumn Pump??

Two days ago my truck operated fine. Today I started it up to go somewhere & realized just as I tried to drive off that I had no power steering or brakes. I was thinking it might be the vacumn pump but there are no visible oil leaks around it & it appears to be making good vacumn when I removed...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Radio Acting Up

Found that if I wiggled the wiring conduit between the frame & right passenger door that I could make the right side speakers go on & off. So I removed the right door panel & speaker pulled back the rubber conduit & removed the electrical tape wrap from around the wires. I checked the wiring for...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Radio Acting Up

Yes it's the Infinity system. When I drove it yesterday I purposely looked for bumps in the road & it seems to act like it's a loose or shorting connection. Thanks for the info. I'll start looking at the wiring.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Radio Acting Up

Recently the radio with CD & Cassette player in my 2002 2500 has started acting up. All 4 speakers on the right side quit working for a while & then will work fine for a while & then quit again. I pulled the radio out yesterday thinking that it might be a loose connection but everything seems...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Air conditioning selector switch

Pulled the resistor as suggested . There were no broken wires. I assume that you are referring to the 5 flat type between the resistor & the mounting plate. Also didn't find any debris. Put an ohm meter on the 4 contacts & get a reading on all of them

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Air conditioning selector switch

The selector switch is still directing the air flow to the location you select ie. the defroster, the floor or the dask

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Air conditioning selector switch

The air conditioner selector switch in my 2002 2500 does not turn the blower fan to the high position when you select "Max AC". It quit at about the same time that I had to service the system with R134. Could there be a relationship there? Is there a relay that controls the fan in the Max...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Air conditioner troubleshooting help

Bought the hose with the gauge, a couple of cans of 134a & a 2oz. can of oil. The pressure in the system was low so I added the oil & a little over 1 can of 134a. Had to jumper the LP switch to get the compressor to run continously. The pressure is in the middle of the green zone (35#'s) now &...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Air conditioner troubleshooting help

A couple of days ago my air conditioner was working fine. Yesterday it wouldn't cool at all. The clutch seems to be working fine but the compressor keeps cycling on then off. Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Special Line Kit & Lift pump Flow measurement

Does anyone have any experience with Vulcans Special Line Kit for trucks with the lift pump relocated to the tank. Also can someone please tell me how you measure the lift pumps flow. Is it done by bumping the starter without starting the engine???Thanks
