    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) For Those Who Haven't,reset Your Apps.....

I just got a PM on this subject(kind of) but I finally got around to doing the APPS reset procedure the proper way today and I gotta tell ya', if you have stumbling issues, power issues or anything you may believe is fuel related you should really do this. If you have done it properly and you...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) what does it mean to ''Talladega tune" something, and restrictor fitting question.

Guys,"restrictor plate racing". Sound familiar? Talladega Super Speedway is a restrictor plate track. If you were asking him to install a restriction, this is where the term came from,Talladega tuning means something is going to get a restriction installed, whether it be a boost elbow or an intake...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) And now,a really dumb question...

How do I put in my profile what I'm driving and what it has? I see everyone else has a description of their truck in their posts. Thanks...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Map sensor reading to high of a pressure

Gary-What is "too high of a pressure"? Generally it will set an overboost code if that happens, like your wastegate on the turbo isn't working. Did your mechanic give you a number?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Performance gradually lacking with Superchips

Make double sure you've cleaned the ground in question,it's not easy to see or get to! Another extremely pleasant result of this is that my normally sluggish overhead fuel mileage calculator now reads rather quickly instead of about every 10 miles,it does it almost instantly according to how I...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Performance gradually lacking with Superchips

Yep,all that's done, new grid heaters,IAT,MAP sensor,BHAF,4" straightpipe,Bosch 300's,Superchips 3 stage tuner. I got it fixed per the code 380,382 post. Thanks for the ideas,I knew I was in the neighborhood!

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Codes 380 and 382,poor performance,please read!!

I've been chasing a ghost for awhile, before I had a Van Aaken box that made my truck "chuggle". The Superchips Tuner I have now was good at first and then it was doing the same thing. Without the boxes everything was smooth but I always got a recurring 380 and 382 codes for the intake grid...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Performance gradually lacking with Superchips

I installed the Superchips program and it was great for awhile, then gradually it seems the performance has fallen away to some degree. Is this because the PRAM is compensating for something and recalibrating as it goes or how does it work for sure? The key words being "for sure". Please don't...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Just installed Superchips program...uh...WOWZA!

Last night was a ground/connector cleaning fiesta, tonight I saw a man about a bunch of horses. We set the Superchips up on the 3rd level(no trailers allowed). It is exciting to see the truck have this kind of power now, knowing that there is more possible. We installed a variable boost...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Trying to diagnose an engine miss / stumble...

I just cleaned every connector and ground I could see in the engine bay tonight, the truck runs alot better. That sure helps but from what I've been reading there is a very mysterious and common problem with these things not wanting to run right alot of the time. I don't think mine is 100% yet...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injection pump gear/cam gear rattle??

Have any of you had a problem with too much backlash in between these 2 gears cause the engine to sound like there is someone shaking a maracca(sp?) in there at 1,800 -2,200 rpm? I was reading a discussion on it somewhere else, just want to know if anyone here has had this happen and what can be...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injection line noise

Thanks Justin,I'll leave it alone. I always like to make sure so I don't have to spend huge money fixing something that could have been prevented.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injection line noise

Hi guys,I just put Bosch 300 injectors in and the steel lines from the pump to the head seem to be "ticking" now, maybe they were before but not nearly as noticeable. I assume this is from the higher volume they're flowing. Are there larger lines to be had for that or is that the way it is? Thanks...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Did my ECM croak??

I'm using a Genisys scanner and it'll let me into OBD2 mode but not OEM mode,no matter what,I've tried everything. I have the correct chip in the scanner for OEM mode and the connections are fine,it works perfect in OBD2. Did my ECM just take a *****?? It'll also set a grid heater b code(I have...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Special tools for injector change?

Thanks fellas,I'll get right to it. Any time I hear "special tool" I flinch. Then it usually isn't absolutely necessary anyway, but maybe nice to have.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Special tools for injector change?

I saw something about an injector tube puller. Is this needed for sure or can something else be used,as I don't have said puller. Thanks...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Stumble is injector spray pattern problem

It is also quite possible that there is a mechanical problem of some kind in your case and others, such as a weak or broken valve spring. Hopefully it's not that but if everything on the outside is good then it's time to go inside if you want to be sure it's right. It's a piece of work to go...
