Brass may work but your much better off with steel which is available at your local plumbing suply house,exhaust manifolds get really hot. I just bought a 1/8 npt plug for my 6. 7 when i got rid of it.

The words dependability and 6. 7L do not mix well. Do as i did and get back into a 5. 9L. Good luck,already been there.
