2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Help In deterininng Value of truck.....

My opinion is that they are wanting full retail value for a truck being privately sold and it has a salvage title. I have never rebuilt a salvaged car or truck, but I have rebuilt salvaged motorcycles and I can tell you that my experience with a motorcycle being sold with a salvage title is that...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission front driveshaft bolts to t-case

The bolts on mine had a thread locker factory applied, it takes some juju to get them broken the first time, use the method described above with an impact wrench. I actually used a 1/2" impact, but a 3/8" would have been easier.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission New Member seeking former owner of my truck for information

You stole those tires! I have not found them for less than $300 each for the "E" rated units. How much were the wheels and what is the back spacing on them?

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission New Member seeking former owner of my truck for information

Man, your rig looks great! I think you will really like those tires, I am running the same ones and size in load range E and they are great tires, but I will say that Toyo really seems to think the world of them! I am really liking the wheels, very nice looking!

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Crossover steering questions

As far as I know, the difference is the taper size and the change was made in 2000 to a slightly larger taper shaft for the pitman arm. The factory "crossover" steering draglink TRE is the same for both setups, but you have to request it for a pre-2000 if you have a pre-2000 truck or request it...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Almost time for new shocks...What kind to get?

I am pleased with the Skyjacker Nitro 8000 series shocks I recently installed. Great price for a nitrogen charged shock. I could not find 5" over Bilstein 5100's, that is why I went with the Sky Jackers, glad I did because they ride great and cost about $20 less per shock.

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) DTT noise filter, anybody got a pic of one?

Or can you tell me is it a typical DC noise filter ie. aluminum can with a mount and a bolt on each end? Like a capacitor?

Did you ever determine where you got the filter from?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Torque converter problems

My converter is also shuddering in 4th and O/D. I was told here and by my trusted transmission guy that it will never get better, it is done and will only get worse. Mine is not related to the wiring issue addressed previously, maybe yours is, but it sounds just like what I am experiencing. It is new...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission What are the best tires for the 4x4 ram

Thanks for the info William. I had to ask about the lift as I can make 35's rub when wheeling on my 5. 5" Fabtech lift. I will say that I am impressed with the Skyjacker Nitro shocks I just installed. The ride from these shocks is outstanding. That said, I would probably not purchase an actual...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission bezel trim

eBay, there are usually 10-20 listed there all the time. I also found a good one at a local wrecker for $40.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission What are the best tires for the 4x4 ram

William, I just looked at the pic of your truck, pretty much my truck but in white! I was wondering what cap you have and also your flares. They look like the ones I have also. Do you have a body lift? 37's on 5" of lift seems almost impossible.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission What are the best tires for the 4x4 ram

Seems like the Toyo Open Country M/T is getting a bit of love in this thread, I very much like mine, but $300 a tire for E load range is too pricey. Try to find a deal on them. Good looking tires!

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission What are the best tires for the 4x4 ram

In a larger size tire the Toyo E rated M/T's are excellent IMHO. My set of 315's has around 30,000 on them and really show little wear at all. Pretty quiet and excellent grip in most all conditions. Really neat looking tire too. Expensive though.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission shudder in O/D??

Just back from my trans shop. Looks like Erik et al are correct, the converter is slipping in upper gears and causing the shudder. $2100 to go with a billet converter and go through the trans. Not too bad. Will have to wait until after New Years as he is closed starting Friday. What about this...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission shudder in OD...

WOW! Sounds like the exact problem I posted about, a few threads down the page https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/24-valve-engine-transmission-1998-5-2002/208220-transmission-shudder-o-d.html I am going to run up to the shop this morning and get it checked out. Will let you know what they...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Road Armor

Indeed the gent that runs Alien Patrol used to be an owner and designer for Road Armor. They did separate and the stories are different depending on who is telling them. I have heard good and bad about Alien Patrol, but I thought that Road Armor was on the up and up.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission shudder in O/D??

I should probably add that the trans shifts great and smoothly. Other than the shudder I get it pulls like a freight train. Just doesn't feel like it is slipping.
