Taking out the light does require more time; but for a guy with larger hands like mine, its less aggervating than to have your hand cramping and smashed inside trying to change a light. . its whatever. .

Michelin LTX M/S worked great for me while I ran them, a little pricey but they did last alot longer. They are a quiet ride as well.
