I see you are still failing at your personal insult and intimidation routine. Sad that you frequently feel it necessary to go that route. I'm done with you.

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

Usually, not until there is an accident. An overweight truck hit a main support on the Mystic River Bridge in Boston. Shut down the bridge for years. They checked the weight. They roasted the driver and the company. Of course they check weights. just not every day under every circumstance. Nor...

I agree. One of us does not comprehend and is in a grand case of detailed rationalization of why they are allowed to exceed specifications. You have obviously put a great deal of detailed work and argumentation into your justifications as to why you can exceed specifications.

and others who can't comprehend that systems are sometimes more complex than they can conceive. That encouraging others to ignorantly exceed standards set by highly trained and experienced experts is irresponsible and ultimately leads to bad things for many people (not all people). I have no...

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

:RantOn. There is always a trade off in parts inventories where one chooses to stock one stronger part or multiple levels of parts. Specs are due to the weakest link in a component. One or a few over specified parts does not change the spec of the overall component. This is getting to idiocy...

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

It's amazing how some people know more than the engineers. How they can identify "THE" single point that needs to be upgraded is such a complex system that has been unit tested and system tested to come up with these ratings.

    Am I the first????????

There are a bunch of 3500 air rides stacked up at the factory waiting inspection and final approval and many more in the pipe. For one, mine. Mine was ordered Nov 11 and is the status of being rescheduled for build. They have been taking orders since Oct. We all wait impatiently. Once it's...

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

It seems like some have lost the purpose of this thread. How do we know we are towing safely and legally. The answer is very simple. Stay within the specs. That is why there are specs. Anything else is pure speculation and increase in wear, decrease in reliability, decrease in durability...

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

Laws almost never fill out the details. They leave it up to the regulations. The regulations do not fill out every detail. That is left up to the agencies interpretation of the regulations. Then they are argued in court and expanded/clarified by decisions. Generally they follow industry...

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

Actually, it's not about laws but rather regulations, regulation agencies interpretation of regulations, previous court decisions, and enforcement policies.

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

Really??? Do you think people want to be safe and buy their truck/trailer combination based on what expensive attorneys might be able to defend in a time consuming trial after having had to hassle with the police????? Here's a clue: be safe and stick to the specs. You will have no need to...

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

Ok. So what is your point. Stay within the published vehicular limits. I agree.

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

Nothing. What specs do you have that are not published? I will go with the published specs. GVWR, GCWR, GFAWR, GRAWR, Max Payload, etc. for the individual truck as manufactured. The only specs I actually know and don't need to guess.

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

Sorry, I am more concerned about safety, durability, and reliability than tort law. I trust engineers and standards more than lawyers, and guesses.

    3500 SRW Towing 18K Concerns

Really, some say the weak point is tires, some wheels, some springs, some axles and diff. Who is right? Obviously not all of the people who upgrade one point or a couple points of weakness are correct. The list can be much longer. The single greatest expense for commercial trucking is problems...
