    2003 Fuel lift pump

I got 250k km on original filter mounted pump. It did not fail and was only changed as PM. Replacement pump failed at 80 K km (50K miles). Replaced with original kept spare. Drove 2000 miles home and removed original (again kept as spare) and installed new one (at the time bought 2 from. Geno’s...

Well, my luck just ran out...time for new injectors

For what its worth , based on a fleet(12-15) of 3rd gens, all purchased used but in the best condition we could find.... In my experience using running hours as the guage, not miles, and barring bad fuel/water related issues,(stock filtration) IF you surpass 6000 running hrs , you are running...

    Fuel Injector Summary

I am approaching mileage to consider new injectors. Sig truck , stock 04 305hp with smjr. This truck must pass a semi annual commercial emission snap opacity test. For this test I remove the smjr programming as it creates issues with rpm ramp up. Will BBI's 0.5's pass a commercial snap test ...

Clutch job: what am I getting into?

Make sure you have a HD jack as used on Class 8 trucks with tilt able deck front to back and side to side. You can leave Tcase attached . Consider Southbend and upgrade to better pilot bearing. If this is a long term truck, consider hydraulics , slave and master change, as well as rear main...

    OEM batteries are junk

I know of 2 MY 14’s and a 16 that have already needed new batteries. The OEM batteries in my 04 were changed at 14yrs , but only as I was getting nervous. The cheapest bid for the 4th Gen batteries is not going to gain any new business for Ram. Unfortunately Ford is IMO beginning to kick...

    Oil Change Anomoly

Not a 6.7 but this.... No my 04 5.9 I drain oil hot but leave it drain overnight. Reason.... if I change filter after pan has quit dripping(say 20min ) the filter is full and very difficult to not make a mess getting it off although if you are very careful it can be done. BUT if you pull filter...

    Retractable running boards

Bestop also makes a almost identical version. I have had for 8 yrs now. Over time pass side failed to deploy fully on occasion. (Open close door twice and all good). Investigated further one day by switching motors side to side. The occasional 1/2 deployment moved with motor. It is however much...

    Which Power Boards?

Best Top and AMP are very similar. Amp step original with less warranty. Bestop a copy from amp step partner trouble (afaik). I have Bestop going on 8yrs or so. Have to replace a motor ( it is erratic and sometimes requires a second run at it. Customer service with technical was great and part...

    BBI .5 injectors

Will BBi .5’s pass a snap emission test in a stock 04 engine? Are BBi’s virgin (brand new injectors) or reman.

rust proofing for new truck, suggestions?

I whole heartedly also recommend Krown. An annual application will keep rust away OR prevent it from getting worse. Spring time application is best because spring/ summer heat really makes the accumulated salt work that is in hidden areas. I will not buy a used vehicle in my area...

    Hub assembly pricing

Or you drill a small through the ABS sensor bolt and weld a grease fitting on it. Then drill a hole in Rotor above grease fitting large enough for grease hose. Can be greased any time wheels are off in a couple of minutes

Transfer Flow vs. Titan aux fuel tanks

Only run a 5 micron in stock position on engine. If I were you I would at least have a water separator off aux. If the area you live has winter fuel legislated at pumps in winter, and using power service or such for peace of mind, gelling should not be an issue. Tier 3 fuels are much more...

    Grease and Carli Ball Joints

My Carli's will take about a full pump every 12000km. They have 70000km on them. Jury is still out.

Transfer Flow vs. Titan aux fuel tanks

I have run a water separator and 2 micron filter between my aux tank 340L which pumps into main tank for years. I never fill main tank and all fuel is filtered from aux into main. -35C has not been an issue . Only run fuel additive below -20C as precaution.
