Whos got nitrous or propane injection and does it help

All really good points! Especially regarding the 5% rule of thumb - the system won't pay for itself with broken parts. Again, I run a 12 valve with the AAF setup. Other setups include the liquid draw system and a permanently installed propane tank (probably great for cold weather installs)...

Whos got nitrous or propane injection and does it help

To answer the rest of your question, the propane will run consistently but - if you run one tank setup, the propane tank can freeze up (which they are prone to do). There are two ways to avoid this in summer time: get an automatic switch from an RV dealer, or run a really big propane tank. The...

Whos got nitrous or propane injection and does it help

Sorry for the delay in reply. I was "away on business. " Boost during towing varies with speed and grade. 60mph cruising with 18K load boost is around 17-21psi (stock turbo) on level ground. The system I have is from American Alternative Fuels (Gas & Diesel Performance Hybrid Conversions)...

Whos got nitrous or propane injection and does it help

Its a net decrease in $$ per mile - I get more miles per $$!!! ;) We figured it out - right now Diesel is $3. 75 in my neighborhood. Propane is $16. 00 for a 20# bottle fill. I get 13 mpg @65mph without propane for 325 miles thats 25gallons = $93. 50 22 mpg @ 65 mph with propane...

Whos got nitrous or propane injection and does it help

Propane Injection I run propane. I tow a 16K 5th wheel. Some timing advance without propane will help your fuel economy even when loaded. I like the added power the propane gives. I get significant increased MPG unloaded with propane and a mild increase loaded - but better than without...

Diesel secret energy .63 cents per gallon

no worries! No need to apologize - I should remember that not everyone speaks "redneck. " The reason I hopped in to this thread is because I am interested in blending. Back in 2006 up to this spring I made bio-diesel in my garage. We have moved since and I am still looking for alternatives...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Which Fuel Plate With Injectors

HA! Any time I hit 3000 rpm, I get a wedgee from my seat cover. Besides, its my daily driver. Another question: I had the head milled and they took around . 005 off. The cometic gasket was . 010 thicker than the stock one. That puts my compression lower than stock. Would this cause a...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Which Fuel Plate With Injectors

... so it is safe to bump the timing up another couple degrees? any drawbacks?

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Which Fuel Plate With Injectors

Funny you should ask... I went to set the timing to 16. 5* and when I did, I found that the timing was already advanced to 16* (I bought the truck used) so I just left it alone. Didn't seem worth all the trouble for a half of a degree... I think I got some fuel pump info from JVaughn when I...

Diesel secret energy .63 cents per gallon

Didn't expect any "gum" in the WVO. I have seen pictures of injection pumps with "gummed up" parts due to the glycerin which is present in the vegetable oil. Please forgive my Texas vernacular. Where I come from "gum" can be used for more than derivatives of the gum acacia. In any regard...

Diesel secret energy .63 cents per gallon

Well... Well, anyone gum up their fuel system or injectors? It looks like costco is selling their oil for $6. 60 per gallon now. Any blenders still blending with wvo?

Hydrogen in Diesel engine gets 80% better mpg

So what can we expect from a home-made H2 generator? Can we expect the same % of mpg gain as from propane? I get 19-22 mpg with propane injection @65 mph unloaded. I get 12-14 mpg without propane inj on @65 mph unloaded. I haven't done the numbers yet, but one 20# propane bottle...

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) How many miles does your STOCK 12 Valve have on it ??

1995, 244000mi, top-end rebuild at 219K: I had the seep above thermostat so I went ahead and pulled the head. My cousin owns a machine shop and he rebuilt the head (only minor stuff): machined 0. 007, new valves, 60# valve springs, cometic head gasket, 12mm ARP studs etc.

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Which Fuel Plate With Injectors

I run a #6 plate (came with an adjustable waste gate elbow) and I started with a 175 pump and injectors. I put the Bosch 285 RV injectors in first and that worked real nice (not 300 hp) Then I smoked the stock clutch and went with a 450hp clutch/machined flywheel. When I added the 3k...

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Power Steering Fluid and Oil Leak

I had to rebuild the power steering unit and replace the seal on the pump. Its not a hard job, but I had to go to a bearing company in order to get the pump seal. I wish I had the measurements still, but if you pull the pump off the vacuum pump and get the seal out, you can take that seal if its...

That's about right - and the only con is that if I want to smoke out some ****-ant Honda tuner fag, I have to really lug the engine. Sometimes I really miss my soot cloud...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission PAC or JAKE BRAKE?

Stock turbo, but considering upgrade. I am not looking for a vacuum operated brake. Anyone who lives up north had any problems with the electrically operated exhaust brakes?

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission PAC or JAKE BRAKE?

I pull a 20K trailer with my dually. I have a 4" exhaust & an onboard aux air system. What is the best exhaust brake for towing? Pros/Cons of what's out there? Thanks.

    Water For Gas

Yes, you will notice I wrote "max" and "the highest current" old chap. Not my designs... Current will depend on how much soda you put in the water or how much HHO you want to make; according to Ohm's law, the current draw will vary indirectly with the amount of resistance. This is not the...

    Fuel Econmy Upgrades

Propane Injection or HHO I just made the trip from Chicago to Panama City, FL in my 12V Dually. I used to have to keep it below 65mph to get 13mpg. After I installed the propane injection I am getting 19. 5mpg at 65mph. I am going to do a little more tweaking, but for a 4x4 1995 dually, 19...
