    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Clicking in Engine

I would check the rockers & valve keepers. May be that something is working loose there, since things have been apart not too long ago. You sure dont want to drop a valve into the cylinder!

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Loss of power after start up

I have a similar problem. Sounds like the "dead pedal". Read my post on down. www.bluechipdiesel.com has some good reading that might help you. I'd bet the VP is dying (like mine). I still need to check the MAP sensor, but I'm not holding much hope this will be the problem. Might check for some...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission New front end parts but poor steering

You will also find an excellent write up about the steering in the TDR issue 74, with alignment info on page 23. I did the 3rd gen T" upgrade on mine

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) VP44 new v.s. rebuilt

I think I am due for a VP. I posted down the line, and I have one more check to run before I condemn my pump. This may have been hashed out way back, but this is now. In reading BlueChip diesel writings, their rebuilt pumps have a lot of upgrades, and depending on how much money to spend $1200...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Spohn stuff

I installed the Spohn trackbar on mine. I had BAD death wobble! Installation wasnt too hard, and so far it has cured the shaking. In my case, the frame socket for the factory trackbar was wallowed out, so I had to go aftermarket. Got pics if interested.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Intermittent dead pedal & p1693 code

Well, I think I have my answer... :{, you hit the nail on the head. I found the posts on setting the APPS, it was off quite a bit, so I set it where it should be. Good post. I also found the post on how to set the APPS in the pcm in the faq's. I finally got the code reader to work on my truck...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Intermittent dead pedal & p1693 code

Hey all, I am trying to get the bugs worked out of the 2000 Dodge I have been working on since last January. This has included a steering rebuild, track bar upgrade, various gaskets & repairs to the engine & body. The thing that troubles me is an intermittent dead pedal (I think that is what it...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) How do I replace the shift rod seal on my transmission?

I have a seal leaking on the shift rod of my auto trans on the 2000 model truck. I thought it may have been the pan gasket, so I changed fluid, filter & gasket. Needed serviced anyway. Nope, still leaks. So I check more carefully & I can see fluid leaking from that seal where the shifter...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wheel Bearings

Sounds fair to me too. Been researching front studs. Whole other story there, but price from Napa for the "better" hub was around $300, little more with the ABS. I made my hubs greasable. Not hard at all. I can post pics and tell you how to if interested. Also a few other threads on this too.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 01 w/bad oil leak

I replaced mine too. It was leaking a little, decided to tackle it while I had things apart. Kind of a pain to get to, but I know I saved a redo down the road. When I took it off, it came off in pieces like yours! Sounds like this is going to be a common/normal repair. Might be real good advice...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) FASS relocation kit

Here are the pics of my install. Sorry to be several days getting this on. For the fuel filter mount I used the hole in the frame where the clip bolted for the fuel & brake lines. I drilled and tapped the other two holes, and the hole where I moved the clip to the left for the...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) FASS relocation kit

I just finished a relocation on my truck. I didnt get the Vulcan kit, but did get the Fass DDRP bracket. I also bought the fass DDRP pump, which I hope is a good decision. I suppose like any other thing, they will fail too - sooner or later. My wiring to the stock pump on the engine had already...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Warning about the block heater cord rubbing the A/C line

I found the block heater power cord was rubbing the aluminum part of the A/C line near the compressor, and had almost rubbed a hole through! I could see this as needless and expensive. I dont know if this has already been addressed here or not, but I am posting this to hopefully help someone...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Dorman harmonic damper

Yea, you are right - I got what I paid for. Junk. It will be on its way back to where it came from! I learned! (Wow, does that sound humble???) I already ordered and received the damper from Geno's. Was a little more than the Dorman, but I'm not going to worry about a broken crank now! It IS...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Dropped pitman arm - which one

I am trying to find a dropped pitman arm to lower my draglink by about 1"- 1 1/2" or so. I called Summit racing and they told me that the ones they had flipped the ball over so it is on the bottom instead of the top. Not good in my case. They really didnt have any other info. Does anyone know of...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Dorman harmonic damper

Ok, I got the Dorman damper (right before Geno's had their OEM for $180!), and I am trying to decide if I should use it or return it. It doesnt look like it is pressed together quite right. The rubber isnt even around the inside and outside. Here are a couple of pics. Take a look and see what...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Electrical or Mechanical???????

Since the engine ran ok before you pulled the head, I'd hold on the injectors until you check some other stuff. I cant imagine damaging all 6 at the same time! They cost money. Crossover tubes have been mentioned. Did you have the lift pump off? Could the studs holding the lift pump to the...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) KDP kit ??? Help!

Here's what I came up with. I was concerned that the bolt and washers could work loose and end up causing the exact problem I was trying to prevent, so I removed the tab. I was surprised that it was as tight as it was. The loctite did a good job, so it probably wouldnt have moved at all, even...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) HELP please! Transmission in lockup all the time

I dont know if this will help at all, but it worked for a '94 Cavalier where the converter would lock up, then not unlock when I came to a stop hot, killing the engine. The only way I could get moving was either to make it spin the tires or wait several minutes. It would eventually unlock, then...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) KDP kit ??? Help!

This MAY be the modified gearcase. The truck is a year 2000, with quite a few miles, and nothing seems to have moved. This is what I did, I added 2 small washers under the tab, and locktited everything. Still not very happy. I'd almost rather take a chance on the pin! I could try...
