Yukon Free Spin Hub Kit - My Install & Review

Inferior comparatively doesn't necessarily translate to a poor product. If you research a bit you will find more than a few companies in the industry manufacturing products in the USA or importing quality products from non cheap-labor countries. To be honest, I didn't know Yukon made this...

Yukon Free Spin Hub Kit - My Install & Review

This is unfortunately now typical of Randy's (Yukon) products: Assembled in the U. S. A. (from Indian and Chinese made parts). Much of the Yukon product line are inferior quality clones of other manufacturer's products with a slightly lower price point.

    locker aam axle

It's because the carrier bearings are so large a clam shell type puller will not work (at least I have not come across one large enough to cup the bearings). For this reason I had to buy new bearings when I put in my ARB even though my truck had relatively low mileage at the time. I was able...

    Intermittent Power Locks - HELP!

Thanks for the reply but that's the first thing I checked, I prefaced my post stating this. I'll be replacing the bad solenoid today and I'll report if it fixes the intermittent problem of the voltage signal not being sent to the other locks when commanded.

    Intermittent Power Locks - HELP!

I've dug into it and do not have any broken wires at the door hinges (at least on the passenger side). Here's what's happening... Noticed Saturday my right rear power door lock stopped working. A few hours later discovered the remaining 3 power door locks work intermittently, meaning...

    Multifunction switch failures

I finally brought my truck in to the dealer (Lithia Dodge of Renton, WA - I will never go back) to have the switch replaced again. After a huge fight with the service writer they finally replaced it free of charge and said they would not do it again. The part was still under the Mopar 12m/12k...

pulling to the right only in 4wd

You should have noted that up front  Get that spare tire off of there. It's also not doing your differential spider gears and cross shaft any justice.

pulling to the right only in 4wd

Man that is a tough one. Since the front axle components are still rotating in 2wd there is not much difference between 2wd and 4wd except the additional load put on those components when the t-case is engaged. Could it be the truck just following the crown in the road more heavily with a...

    Tru Trac and E-locker

I think you made the right choice going with a selectable locker up front. For the rear I think it's a matter of preference and how the rig is used, a rear limited slip is nice in some situations but other times can be worse than being open or worse than fully locked.

    T-TAP Electrical Connectors ?

If you want to enhance integrity and prevent corrosion... . don't use them, they are garbage.

    Sector Shaft Play?

PSC Dodge 2500 & 3500 Steering Box Brace - Four Wheeler Magazine seems to indicate sector shaft play is normal. Going to do some research on the different brands available and get myself one.

    Sector Shaft Play?

Nope, all linkage is tight, as are the ball joints. It's the sector shaft, ie; the splined shaft protruding from the steering box that the pitman arm attaches to. All highway miles on the truck, half of which was with the OE wheels and tires. I'm just not sure if I need to replace the box or...

    Sector Shaft Play?

I noticed a "clunk" in the front end today while moving the steering wheel back and forth with the truck off. I thought the alignment shop gurus might have left something loose but upon further inspection discovered it was coming from the sector shaft moving laterally within the steering box. If...

    '09 tire pressure monitor?

My truck doesn't have that "feature" but my experience with it on other vehicles is that it is an automated system, meaning the warning indicators will go off on their own once the pressure is within the proper threshold. If it's under warranty take it to the dealer and let them fix it on...

    '09 tire pressure monitor?

Has he swapped new wheels onto the rig w/o taking the sensors out of the OE wheels? If the sensors are there and the tires are at the correct pressure it may have a faulty sensor.

    H13 Headlight Bulbs

Unless the DOT has implemented significant changes you are incorrect. The DOT stamp means the manufacturer is certifying its compliance with the standards set forth by the DOT, however it is NOT approved by the DOT. We manufacture and distribute, among other things, aftermarket vehicle...

    H13 Headlight Bulbs

I'm thinking about an HID upgrade on my '06 from this outfit Unique Auto Lights. They are local (to me) and I've heard good things about the product and support, although not from any Ram owners. As I understand it the kits are pretty well plug and play without having to mod the light housing...

Turn Signals Wrong or Not On !!!

It's the multifunction switch. Same problem the 3500's have the recall for, apparently not enough 2500 owners complained to the NHTSB for them to investigate the 2500 models. I agree it is a huge safety concern, I'm on my 3rd switch. It frustrates me and it's total BS.

    Fuel Milage

About 52K on my '06, engine is stock and running the OE tires for the winter (plus 250lbs of bumper/winch). I put in a half gallon of bio for every full tank which equates to about 2% bio per fill (for lubricity). I commute 25 miles each way 5 days a week in mostly stop and go traffic and I...

    Silencer Ring Removal

I made a PSM style cold air intake on my factory box today, and figured while I was there I'll pull the silencer ring and see what kind of difference it makes. Well there is a noticeable difference with it removed, however it's not huge. I imagine it will get more noticeable when I add a cool...
