    Battery charging through trailer plug

Is there a convenient place to get the battery voltage to send to the trailer connector? Do I also understand that the ground on the connector is insufficient and that I should also increase its size? Would grounding it to the chassis at the rear of the vehicle be acceptable? Do you have a...

    Battery charging through trailer plug

That was indeed the problem. I found the fuse in the standard fuse box. I don't know why I didn't think of that first. They taught us in Tech School USAF, that we were to check the fuses first. Oh well, that was 50 years ago. :o Thanks

    Battery charging through trailer plug

Just returned from a long trip to the western US (again). I discovered that I am not charging my RV battery through the trailer plug (factory towing option) I get no 12V through the + terminal on the trailer receptacle, ignition on or off. Do I have a problem or do I have to do something else to...

    Turbocharger Speed Sensor Circuit Performance

It's been a couple of months or more since the cleaning. What function does this sensor perform?

    Turbocharger Speed Sensor Circuit Performance

I was coming home from a camping trip this PM when my RAM threw code P2579. I looked it up and saw the explanation in the title. I was pulling my 5er at the time. I've had the turbo cleaning and all the updates done after having P2262s. I'll call the dealer Monday, but I wondered if anyone had...

Simple Do-It-Yourself Instructions For Changing an ISB 6.7 Fuel Filter

Me too on the "hell to get off. " Great instructions Harvey, too bad I couldn't get them to work. I think that the filter was just on too tight to loosen with the extension. Being a little guy, my arms are barely long enough to reach up to the filter to begin with. I had to take the tire off and...

    Turbo Clean

Picked up the truck this morning and the Service Adviser girl couldn't give me much info. Said that the exhaust cleaning had to be repeated and that was not unusual. They "completed a regen", cleared the codes, and drove 24 miles. I think next time, if I can't see a code, I'll drive for a while...

    Turbo Clean

Dealer just called to say that I did NOT have a P2262. I'll pick up tomorrow and see what the invoice says that they did. Should I just drive it for a while when the little "engine" light comes on if it does not throw a code? I'll ask the dealer that question too.

    Turbo Clean

Well, my truck is in the shop, 4 weeks and two days and 398 miles after the turbo cleaning. I couldn't call up the code by the key switching method, but I'm assuming that it is another P2262. I'd like to hear from someone who has had the replacement as to whether or not it cleared the sooting...

    Turbo Clean

That's not too encouraging! How did your truck do after the turbo replacement and when was it done?

    Turbo Clean

I just picked my truck up from the dealer after turbo cleaning and software updates. I, too, was wondering about the effectiveness of this process. I've read several posts about the replacement of the turbo after the cleaning did not result in the end of P2262 error codes. I pull a fifth wheel a...

Can't see screen on 2008 nav system

OK, here goes. In the photos, I have begun to input a street name (Austin) The letter B is highlighted (selected) and available. It has a yellowish background color, best seen in the second photo. C,D,G,K,L,N,Q,R,S,T,& X are also available to choose for the next letter. All others not available...

Can't see screen on 2008 nav system

You say that it is not a contrast issue, so I assume that you have tried the different Brightness settings (Automatic, Manual-Day, and Manual-night). My wife's Chrysler seems brighter to me than my Ram, but it is still readable. I am in west Tennessee. I'll try to get you a picture and either...

Can't see screen on 2008 nav system

I have 2 REC units and don't have the problem with either. Sounds like you have a bad screen (LCD) Has it always been this way? I guess software could be a problem. What disk are you using? (AD, AE, AF, AG shows on the dvd). Maybe an upgrade would correct the problem, but I'm guessing the screen.

    6.7L Air Filter

Maybe I'm missing something here, but are you talking about changing the system and filter. That looks like a $500 job. How is that economically feasible?

    towing rpm

I ran from Tennessee to Nova Scotia in August. I used the Tow/Haul mode on the way up, but the shifting was so rough that I took it out on the way back. Shifting is much smoother, especially on the downgrades. I told my dealer about this and he said, no problem, use it if you want or leave it...

    '08 6.7L hard starting

Sometimes when I use the "Fast Idle", I get that light, but when I turn the engine off and restart, it has always gone away.
