    MaxBrake question?

I had the "self check fail message", tried all kinds of things to find out what was wrong including calling Maxbrake. Finally found out that the problem was a broken wire in my wiring harness of the truck going to the rear. It was over the fuel tank, a bear to fix. Works fine now!

    MaxBrake question?

I suggest you call MaxBrake directly. I had a problem, called, and they were very helpful on helping me diagnose the problem. Turned out not to be a problem with the MaxBrake at all, but a broken wire in the trucks wiring to the rear trailer connector. The MaxBrake is a great item, I haul up...

Drag Racing and Street racing in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

Wayne M. "mrtrombley, I guess you proved Ralph Nader wrong with Corvair handling problems. . LOL. Whas that Healey a 100-6 or a 2000? And, where is it today??? ($$$) Beautiful car!" The problem with the Corvair (similar to the Firestone problem) was that they recommended something like 20psi...

Drag Racing and Street racing in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

I was not in the same league as you "big boys", but I bet I had just as much fun. I had a 110HP, 4 Speed stick, '64 Corvair and it was a blast. I did a lot of gymkhana's back then, they were pretty popular in my area. Young and no fear, I usually won my class. Also did some hill climbs. But the...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission need a new steering wheel cover

I've had a Harley-Davidson slip on, just like SierraRam's above. It lasted almost 8 years! Just bought a new one, cost was around $30, I think. My son had the same thing, only it said Dodge on it. You can pick them up at most Auto Accessary stores, or an H-D dealer if that's what you want...

Cold War Relics, Maine is full of them!!!

I worked in Eastern Mass in the mid 80's. I remember seeing some Anti Ballistic Missle sites hidden in areas NE of the Boston area. Do you remember LAUGH IN ? They used to run those humorous banners across the bottom of the TV screen. I laughed when they did a play on words with "A. B. M...

Not Diesel Related, But Read The Linked Story From The Bangor Daily News.....

The guy has paid a $50,000 bail but still has 18 days to serve on another charge. People from all over the world have sent in donations for his defense fund. I guess some people think of it as a big "joke" destroying over $200,000 of taxpayer property!

    Hit From Behind

Harvey, will certainly need to check that out when all comes apart. I may be wrong, but I don't think the side panel goes all the way back to the actual corner. I believe it is an open area where the wiring snakes up through. Notice in the picture where the bolts are that hold everything...

    Hit From Behind

Thanks for the advice guys. So far the RV dealer where I bought it will probably do the repairs. The trim, as you mentioned, is bent but I don't think the fiberglass side panel is damaged. The rear door and the lower panel took most of the impact. The frame looks to have ok but will be checked...

    Hit From Behind

Went to Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH to see the NHRA Drags over July 4th weekend. On the way home, while coming across I-86 in lower NY we were hit from behind. We were pulling the ToyHauler and a car hit us right in the rear of the trailer. It doesn't look like a lot of damage, but so...

    Mustang Shelby GT 500????

When we lived in Las Vegas my son actually worked for Carroll Shelby at his (then) new facility at the Las Vegas Speedway complex. My son actually worked on Shelby's "old #1", his personal Cobra. The facility was building Shelby's new Series I, a $110K sports car, the first car to be produced in...

5th Wheel Hitches, Enlighten Me Please

The PullRite automatic slider is a great unit. No worry's, when the truck turns, the hitch automatically slides back on one side or the other. The hitch has a horseshoe type slot and cams for the 5th wheel pin to move in. I believe they cost about $2200. A cheaper way to go is a Sidewinder...

    Car Trailer

Just a thought on your "this one" trailer (the PJ with the bar rails all around). The trailer would probably be all right for your jeep, but would not be suitable for smaller, lower cars. You would not be able to open the doors when you get the vehicle on the trailer. When I had an older...

    Tire Question

I have Michelin LTX MS2's across the rear of my 4x4 dually. The tires are rated for long life. I only have about 25K on them, but they seem to be wearing pretty well. BUT, they are not good for much snow! I just use the 4x4 at times, when necessary. I bought the tires for the long life...

    My new bed cover.

Just installed a new Extang ENCORE hard cover. Really like it. I wanted something that would open from the front as well as from the back because I needed to be able to fill my aux fuel tank. This cover does it all and can easily be removed too. I have to admit that it is kind of heavy and...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Drivers Side Rear Door Will Not Open

Sorry, my mistake! The '01 was a QC and the rear 1/2 doors opened toward the front and couldn't open unless the front door was already open.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Drivers Side Rear Door Will Not Open

Does your door have the "kiddie lock latch" ? Not sure if that year had it like the newer ones or not. But even if it did, it should still open from the outside.

Picked up a new toy today 2011 Victory

Congrats on the bike! I'm sure you will like it. My son used to work for a dealer that sold Victory's. He knows bikes pretty well and really liked the Victory. Said they were very well made, and American made too! Good Luck with it. Have you been up along Big Sur yet?
