BBI .5 injectors with 50k miles

Random question: How many miles on the engine and when was the last valve adjustment? I noticed with high mileage on my truck that I had a few cylinders at numbers like that, and found the valves were out of adjustment. After adjustment they were much closer. The ECM can only look at the...

    2006 ECM Exhaust Brake logic

I just noticed this double posted. Mods, please combine or delete one.

    2006 ECM Exhaust Brake logic

The ECM has 2 pins. Connector B Pin 39 for Exhaust Brake "request" (you run it to a switch and then ground). Pin 42 for solenoid control activation (ground control). The actual commanding of the EB is all controlled by the Cummins ECM. I have PACBrake Air solenoid controlled EB for reference.

    2006 ECM Exhaust Brake logic

I have been looking through the FSM, forums and general internet search's and I have not found a clear answer to what the logic behind the exhaust brake (EB) control is for the 2006 5.9 Cummins ECM. I have found (and from my experience) that is will run the EB to aid warm up (under 900 rpm, 170...

Limp mode 600+ miles from destination towing 6500lbs boat/trlr

Since it has been awhile, what was the solution or outcome from this? I may be having a similar issue.

    High charging voltage

Also physically feel the crossover cable. It should be slightly flexible. It is it stiff, the cable has corrosion within the jacketing. Unfortunately common. If you have a corrosion present it will effect the charging system, as the generator is connected to the passenger side (aux)...

    Turbo Replacement

Can you define "blew"? Did it scatter, lose pressure, lock up? Did you clean out your intercooler?

Help! Electrical issues No bus error

It sounds like you are on the right path, but please always have both batteries connected as the generator (alternator) is connected to the aux (passenger side) battery and it then charges both batteries (and supplies system power when running) through the crossover cable. I have also seen...

Loss of ODB2 Port network connection, I think it's a TIPM problem

Also looking through Prodemand (ShopKey) U0141 is an error code for any of the CAN B devices losing communication with the TIPM for approximately two to five seconds. A long way to test it would be to disconnect each device until you no longer have the issue. When you installed the aftermarket...

Loss of ODB2 Port network connection, I think it's a TIPM problem

After reading this (and some how missing it for the last few months) why the dual alternators, and are they isolated from the ECM? I only ask since the the OEM alternator does have a ecm controlled voltage regulator. And I have heard of one truck that had random CAN issues (mostly lighting...

Power passenger seat problem 2006 2500

They use a screw drive. I would think electrical if it works in one direction. Check the switch voltage output. If not Geno's has parts ;) https://www.genosgarage.com/category/seat-components

    Secondary fuel filter recommendations?

I setup a Racor R90s water filter/separator (2 micron) just outside tank (under bed) and kept the oem filter as a safety catch filter. Micron Rating: 98% @ 4 Micron μm https://ph.parker.com/us/en/racor-replacement-filter-element-spin-on/r90s

I have bought/installed parts from http://turbolabofamerica.com/ and have not had any problems. They may be other vendors out there.

2006 HID kit or projector / halo headlights

Whichever kit you choose, make sure to run a resistor kit with it. The TPIM is not happy with less or more resistance/load than the OEM headlights are rated for.

    u-joint help

Last time I had a shaft rebuilt by a driveline shop, it was actually cheaper than buying the parts myself. Good to hear it is fixed and thank you for the update.

04.5 48re Works properly manually only

Here is a copy of the 48RE diagnostic chart: Sounds like maybe the rear clutch is not holding? But odd that you can get it to manually shift through gears.
