    Peterbilt...

Yep, that's what I was thinking. Figure that'd be the simplest way. Thanks

    Peterbilt...

looking for references for adding auxiliary gear units onto semi trucks. Old peterbilt service truck needs taller gearing for higher speeds. Truck rpms out at 59 mph. Was hoping to find something similar to GEAR VENDORS unit, but specifically made for OTR semi trucks. Technically, changing rear...

    Value

Yes, I'm going to ask you to tell me how much my truck is worth, haha. Got some family changes, kids, and the like going on and can't decide whether to sell the truck or keep it. It doesn't get used as a 3/4 truck should so I've been thinking of downsizing. Sucks to admit as a mechanic and...

    Trailer Wiring, Kenworth

Nevermind that confusion. I'll just get rid of the pins for each turn signal that's already there, and tap into my tractor bumper turn signals. There fore I should have brake and signals individually, finally. Shouldn't be that hard. I apologize. My brain has been going nuts.

    Spell check sucks. Sorry

    Trailer Wiring, Kenworth

So when I do that I would actually take that breaks the power put it on the inside parasites that does not Flash correct? I say that because Michael's already work so if I put it besides other than just one. Or should I just get rid of the Box 7pin RV that's already there got my new lighting off...

    Trailer Wiring, Kenworth

Ueah, I'm digging the tractor tee in...I was just about to say the same thing. Just reach down and grab my wire feed from the tractor bumper lights. Just have to do a little differentiation between lh and rh, and be good to go. Hopefully

    Trailer Wiring, Kenworth

    Nope. Should there be?

    Trailer Wiring, Kenworth

I have this lil guy.. http://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Hopkins/HM47425.html The t800 has one of those 7round connectors on the back of the semi cab. I'm assuming this is so the drivers can replace the pigtail once they accidentally pull away with wiring connected. Haha. I tried plugging...

    Trailer Wiring, Kenworth

Yes, planning to keep everything. And hopefully want to hook up more trailers on the future. Which would mean you're correct. If I went to pick up another trailer with this tractor having a 7flat it wouldn't connect leaving us stuck without any electrical at all. Good point. I guess what I...

    Trailer Wiring, Kenworth

Okay, so after getting distracted for 2 months, I'm finally back trying to fix this truck to trailer wiring again . Your answer made sense a few weeks ago, but not now. I'm confused at how just switching the connector over to a7pin round vs a 7pin rv will make a difference. The connector is...

Locked up TC, Fwd, Rev, all gears.

So, to make a long story short, driving home tonight my TC isn't unlocking. Tried all scenarios, and same result. Shut truck off, restarted, same result. In fwd or rev, it lugs super super low, and then upon shifting to neutral, it revs up to 14-1500 or so, as if it's clearing its throat. Same...

    Trailer Wiring, Kenworth

It makes great sense. That should work. So put the factory intended 7 pin round back on everything, rather than a 7 pin flat(RV). That's a good idea, wish I would've thought of it like that

    Trailer Wiring, Kenworth

Ok folks. I'm only writing this here because there's a lot of intelligent people that also do some trucking. I'm trying to do some trailer wiring. We've got a Kenworth T300 dump truck that has a tag trailer pulled behind it all the time. It has a standard 7 pin rv style trailer connector, with...

Better fuel filter than 7 micron? Dodge OEM Severe Filter kit PART #68083853AB

I may be a little late in the forum. I run the OEM filters from Alliant Diesel. I plumbed in another stand fuel filter base, and mounted a Cat 1R-0750 or 51 filter. I'm a Cat dealer tech, so cat parts have an advantage to me, wink. I basically made it just like the Glacier Diesel kit. But I did...

    Survey, egt's

Good info. If only I'd have bought one year newer of a truck. Too much work done now to sell it. I've got a bully dog but don't think it's a good match. However I've recently started liking the "overdrive-OFF" setting in the BD unit. With that setting I can limit my egts at cruising speed by...

    Survey, egt's

I've researched and researched for years. Apparently there's some ecm differences on 05 trucks. They don't have efficient live for my truck. Just 06 and up. I always thought the Cummins lineup was 03-04, and 05-08. But for some reason 05 is an odd year. I understand the elms were different...

    Engine oil for my Cummins

I prefer to run 5w-40 rotella. Many reasons. But I switched right in the middle of a big cold spell rwo years ago from 15-40. The difference in cranking speed was huge. Literally sounded like it was turning over twice as fast during starting. I've never gelled, I always use stanadyne additive...

    Mitsubishi...???

The pump is inline. If I keep it and use it, I will built a nice strong, higher horsepower engine. I would do a fresh overhaul of entire engine, probably head stud it. Got a local fuel shop that I like that could go through the pump for me and get larger injectors. That said though, it's...
