We had a 1/2 nut that was slightly thinner than the same thickness of the threaded opening on the pan. That would have brought the opening we put in it the same or slightly lower than the top of the pans threaded insert. Then we removed the 1/2 nut slowly to make the threads lay straight again...
When I first installed my valve, I was told of a possible large amount of oil not draining and that I should look for this. I drained my oil normally and marked the pan of this level. (Note: the level was marked with the oil from the pan and what drained from the filter) I changed the filter and...
Should the questions be asked,
Who bought extended warrantees ?
Who has used them and/or made out by having them ?
Over the years I have bought but a couple extended warrantees and had never used them. So I don't anymore.
Per the 2002 FSM:
ETHYLENE-GLYCOL MIXTURES
CAUTION: Richer antifreeze mixtures cannot be measured with normal field equipment and can cause problems associated with 100 percent ethylene-glycol.
The required ethylene-glycol (antifreeze) and water mixture depends upon the climate and vehicle...
Don't have DEF, but from all I've talked to, it depends how it's used. Many have gone many miles without much DEF loss driving unloaded. But when working it hard, you can consume much more. And does anyone know how much you can put into it above te full mark ?
Like the truck, like the color combo, but like mentioned, I like a little chrome on them. They charge you like your buying a massive diamond ring, so why not a bit of sparkle.
One heck of a lot of great info for ya, and I like the one ... "don't let anyone fill your tanks DEF/Fuel but you" ...
But I'd like to mention that fuels sold in areas that do not have a refinery within, say, 300 miles, are from that is called the spot market. That is a system throughout the...
I don't have those, I have the FOMOTO brand drain valve and will never go without it. Put them on every vehicle I've had. Did not look through the webpage you gave, but FOMOTO has the nibless, short nibs and long nibs. easy to change oil AND when I need to draw a sample for testing.
Get the truck up to operating temp for a while, then when you get it home, pull the plug and filters.
Let her drain at least an hour to let everything purge. Replace filters and fill it up.
You'll be fine.
It will leak if the seals are dry, old or cracked.
If none of these are present at...
I was making coffee for the wife and I and in general bull, told her of this thread. She reminded me of a test I did when deciding to stay with Dino or convert to Synthetic. I took two pieces of metal, made trays with sides and set them both next to each other at the same angle. I don't...
I called Cummins a few years back and they said Valvoline Premium Blue Synthetic was what every motor has when leaving the factory. But I'm old and can't remember if it was the 5w-40 or the 15w-40. Like I said, I use the 5w-40 Rotella T6 and have no issues with it. But it is still my belief, if...
I'm sorry but we had a family health issue here and finally back to the computer again. 'brillmtb', I will be waiting for your comments after testing. My LED works extremely fine here, but in Tenn the land is rolling and hard to see what they will do at an extreme distance. In my area, the only...
The redo's has to be better, they've improved the special effects computers / programs. I hope they have better script writers. My wife is really into the old and new the versions. So I know I'll be watching.
I've had themm on every vehicle I've owned the last 10 years plus and never regretted owning them. One of the best investments I've made. But I agree, if you drain plug is very low, it might be advisable to really think it through before buying.
