Registering a 1997 3500 in California

Hi Guys, I'm in the process of replacing some of the rusted body parts on my 2000 dodge ram 2500 Quad cab. I already got rust free doors from a salvage yard in Arizona cause I couldn't find new ones even from my dodge dealer. I need front fenders and a drivers side back door skin that I can only find at the dealer. With all the aftermarket parts company's out there selling body parts that range in price quite a bit. I don't mind paying for quality but you cant see that from a picture. I don't want to find out after the fact that the parts are all the same and I'm paying extra for what the dealer wants to tac on for profit. Being dodge truck owners I'm sure some of you if not all of you had to deal with some of these part company's. Are the body parts from the dodge dealer any better the aftermarket dealers? Thanks for any info that you all can provide

Never had to deal with Dodge dealers on body parts. I have experience it with Ford dealerships years ago. Per the shop guy I became friends with, he said they call on after market manufactures for the parts. Now they had their preferred suppliers and that because they got the better deal with them, in cost and delivery time.

Now many vehicle manufactures even get their new vehicle parts through after market companies. My son works for a company that supplies internal parts for Nissans, VW and such. They are told the specs, they produce them, then ship them to the assembly plants. So most don't manufacture many of their parts ... it's not back in the 50's and 60's anymore.

I live in the northeast and there isn't a day goes by that I see another 2nd Gen. Dodge that has the bottom half of the doors rusted out especially Quad cabs. I thought for sure there would be more threads on this issue. I'm considering using LMC for my doors. Has anyone used them for body parts? I purchase my dash from them a am happy with it. Any feed back would be great. Thanks

I'm supprised more didn't chime in on this.
I've read many recommend LMC on many sites. And the word were they are a good company to do business with.

If your looking for doors for a quab cab LMC does not seem to offer it, at least not in their online catalog. I heard the same thing about LMC but was bummed when I could not find the doors as I was contemplating a body rebuild as the rust devil has taken over. They do have other body stuff for the quad just not doors and that is what I needed the most. I did read that I would have to go to the dealer for new doors and I did not want to pay those kind of prices or do the hunt for used doors, so I have since pretty much given up on keeping my "Big Blue":{ and ordered an EcoD

Hey J5 I kno lmc doesnt carry q/c doors. I got mine from a rust free salvage yard in Az. The dodge dealer says their not even on the radar on their syIstem. My * * * * * *tread was more about the fenders and quality. The fenders from lmc r about $100 more each than some of the other sites I been on. I wanted to find out if anyone knows if the quality is any better or do they all get them from the same vender. Thanks for the reply. Sorry bout Big Blue and good luck with the new truck!
