    Power steering firewall leak

I bought a reman from Advanced Auto. The price was pretty reasonable, and like AZ, it has a warranty. At any rate it leaks in the bore. It is not a hard job to do. But there is a nut on the bracket that holds the hydroboost. Even on the bench, I had nothing to get it off-I even had a proper...

    Wait to Start Light Delay

Sorry, I've been away a while. Thank you.

    Wait to Start Light Delay

Everything I'm seeing indicates the ECM too. There are some threads where folks sent theirs in for rebuild. If you're one of these, what has been your experience with the vendor and the product? I assume that I cannot get a new one from either Dodge or Cummings. Also, after a rebuild, does it...

    Wait to Start Light Delay

I have a 1998.5 3500 w/ 166,000 miles. I plan on keeping this Truck and work hard to keep it in top shape. Very recently I needed to crank the engine before it would start. Once started, it ran just fine. It was almost like it was losing its prime. I then noticed that the WTS light light...

    My TC is Cycling

Gary: It's not always the alternator. It can be any number of "other things" too. Primarily, that would be grounds to the battery, engine block and PCM. I've been through a number of alternators that tested bad (by me). So, I went with new Autozone for the replacement warranty. However...

Power Steering pump to vacuum pump

That is a great video. I should add that you CANNOT just tighten the bolts to pull the pumps together. If you do, you will break the vacuum pump housing resulting in a really bad day. You will need to pull the assembly and reseat the retainer.

Power Steering pump to vacuum pump

I don't know quite what you're referring to, but there shouldn't be a gap between the mounting face of the power steering pump and the vacuum pump. If there is, you've probably not installed the O-Ring retainer deep enough. If it is not set in to the stop, your power steering pump will not go...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Headliner

I took mine to a local auto trim shop for replacement last year. Total cost-$100-and worth every penny to avoid that misery.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Vacuum Supply A/C Heater Controls

All the lines look just fine. It's been running normally for 5 days now. Speed control works as it should, and all the AC modes work too, dash, floor and defrost. Control switch? No idea. I guess I'll need to wait until it becomes a problem again. Of course it will happen on a 95 degree day and...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Vacuum Supply A/C Heater Controls

I plan on double checking all the vacuum lines this weekend. But again the issue is intermittent. Thanks

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Vacuum Supply A/C Heater Controls

I have a weird issue. Last week all of the AC started coming out of the defroster vents. I was on a trip pulling my 5th wheel so I was limited in what I could do. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes it would not work on start up and then start working. When I parked the...

    Sport Headlights Install Questions

You should not need to cut any metal on a 2002. Gen 2 trucks made later in 1998 and forward already have the cutouts for sport lamps.

    Sport Headlights Install Questions

I did this conversion several months ago. I started to drop the bumper, but it started to be a real PITA and would add quite a bit of time to the job. So, I decided to see if I could get the lamps in without removal. With a little twisting and turning of the lamp, they went right in without...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Parking brake release

The part is available. I tried fixing mine with a washer and epoxy. It worked for a while. Try here https://www.amazon.com/DODGE-PARKING-BRAKE-HANDLE-MOPAR/dp/B0052M0KS8/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1475238550&sr=1-2&keywords=brake+release+handle They are not that hard to install. You'll...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission fuel leak

You can replace the o-ring in the top of the filter canister. You can goggle it "dodge diesel fuel heater leak" and find several you tubes on it. Beware-some of the guys are hacks, but seem to get the job done. I believe there is a write up in one of the past TDRs. Essentially, you take the...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Head light switch replacement

+1. Carquest makes a connector PT351. If you do this, you should solder the connections and use shrink tubing. The part comes with the shrink tubes.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Head light switch replacement

Here are the wiring diagrams for both the headlights and turn signal. Just glancing at them indicates to me that you may have another bad switch.

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Center Support Bearing #?

I went directly to Dodge for mine. With the serial number, you'll get the right one the first time.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Head light switch replacement

If I remember when I get home, I'll post a wiring diagram. I think it unlikely that the MFS is causing that many different issues. But you did mention that you're getting some type of noise from it.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Head light switch replacement

You may have received another bad switch. I received 3 bad switches in a row from Advanced Auto. All of them had issues with dimmer, cargo lamps, etc. They did not have another brand to give me, so I bought one from Auto Zone. This one operates and feels solid. Geno's has a Mopar switch too. The...
