    53 block again

I did tell the salesperson that I was replacing the motor because it was a 53 block. He said that they rebuild the 53 blocks that aren't cracked for the commercial market. So even though I didn't ask but I will before I shovel out any cash. I'm sure its not going to be a 53 block.

    53 block again

My 53 block has 230 miles on it. Just spent a ton of money with body work, paint, after market wheels, tires and parts. Motor runs fine but I am worried that that like Steve said it may be a time bomb. Started getting prices on reman. long blocks. One company said they would accept my core as...

    2001 Doors Help

I looked at LMC Truck for my Quad Cab doors a few years back and they didn't offer them. Only for ext. cabs and reg. cabs. Found used but rust free ones from a salvage yard in Arizona. Delivered them right to my door, 10 o clock at night but better than driving to Arizona from Pa.

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 4" Donaldson muffler

Are any of you guys have a Donaldson muffler on your truck? If so is it quieter or louder than the major brands. I'm looking for quieter. Is the stainless steel units 409 or 304

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Uneven Front Pad wear

I have replaced the calipers and the cradles. I thought the cradle was the problem because they look different from on side to the next. Where the caliper slides on the cradle, one has more surface area on the top and the other side has more on the bottom if you can visualize what I'm saying. It...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Uneven Front Pad wear

I replaced brakes and calipers. Replaced the glides and lubed them well. I'm going to check the flex hoses as GAmes suggested. My mechanic said it might be proportioning valve. He has a 97 ram gasser. He has a different brake setup than mine but he purchased a adjustable proportioning valve for...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Uneven Front Pad wear

I've have noticed that the pads on the right front side of my truck are wearing out faster than left side. Now the truck has a pull to the right side when the brakes are applied. Also when I come to a hard stop and go to accelerate the rear tire brakes loose as though the brakes are still...

No more Borgeson steering boxes for 2nd gen Dodge?

I was thinking about a Red Head now I'm not sure. I read many good thread about both borgeson and red head in earlier threads and in later thread it seems like the quality control went by the way side. What's out there that could hold up to the stress of bigger tires and some off road use? I...

Well guys there has been a wealth of info coming out of this thread that might take me awhile to absorb. All because I wanted to know what the approximate length of the control arms should be for a 6" lift. Anyway BOB the control arms ARE Core 4x4 out of Utah and not Kore who which I'm aware of...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Front control arms

Thanks JMcCoy for that info. It best answered my original question. Are you saying that I should reinstall the cams? I'm not 100% sure what the cams do that the adjustable control arms can't? Your saying I would have to sacrifice pinion angle for castor and I wouldn't have to do that with the...

Thanks AE for the info. Like I said my trucks profile hasn't been updated in awhile. so here what I got I installed 3" carli spring lift along with Core 4x4 adjustable control arms. These units are really stout and have plenty of adjustment. I installed synergys adjustable trac bar along with...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Front control arms

Can anyone tell me what the approximate length for the front adjustable control arms should be for a 2000 ram 4x4 with a 6 inch lift should be? I've had this truck in the several shops several times for alignment and it still rides rough. I had the last guy delete the cams and do adjustment by...
