You are confused sir. This is not the case with the GDE turbo brake.

That's not correct

GDE does do the job correctly!

No components are removed. You will never see the turbo brake under normal driving conditions without manually downshifting to a low enough gear.

I like the turbo brake and the regen notification. High idle could be useful in colder climates.
