    Lead Mats for Sound Deadening

Well. After much deliberation (and taking price into consideration) I went with Noico 80mil and I’ll be putting Noico Red 150 mil on top of that. Had a 100 gift card for Amazon. Paid $131 out of pocket lol. Let’s see how it all goes!!! I’ll update here and CF. I have a lot of cleaning to do to...

    Lead Mats for Sound Deadening

Wicked sorry for the late reply fellas!!! Been a busy few weeks. Thank you for the response. I’ll be getting some measurements here shortly. Hopefully before cyber Monday ends lol. I did get a carpet with mass backing, so that will certainly help things. KATOOM thanks for that little tid bit...

    Lead Mats for Sound Deadening

Found this article: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/threads/noise-reduction.40821/ I shall be going this route, but for those that HAVE done this, did you cover every square inch of your floor, firewall, and rear panel, and what did you use for an adhesive? Thanks guys!

how replace '94 valve springs w/o dropping valve

Force the cam pin out. F the retaining ring, and remove the plug. Get your finger in there and feel for that dimple. Feel the dimple, find compression TDC. Just what I would do. A quick Google would give you the answer to the latter. Have you worked on these trucks before? Or used any sort of...

    Grease all over rear drum

^ I was going to say the same thing.

    12V rebuild advice

Well, aside from a complete rear down which may not even be necessary, I would say pull the head and freshen that up. It will give you the chance to inspect your cylinders and pistons and let you know if you need to dig further. Breathability is key to these things, so I would personally have...

    12 valve Hot thermostat?

In the winter, I put my cardboard between the rad. and intercooler. Keeps the intercooler getting that nice cold air [emoji106][emoji2532].

    Battery Tray DooDad

It is a temperature sensor for the batteries. Depending on the ambient temperature outside, the amount of voltage of the battery receives varies. The colder outside the more the battery is charged. The hotter outside, the less it is charged.

NV4500 oil coolers.. TRANS COOL vs FAST COOLER

Ah. That makes sense then. I’m going to be doing the same. Recreational ie: trailer home lol. If I don’t ZF, or G56 swap it, I’ll look into one of these coolers.

Subscribing. Curious as to the benefits.

    Power Steering fluid check

The reservoir is located driver side, below the injection pump. Messy to fill. I brought a funnel and attached a piece of 1/2” rubber house about 16” long.

    Vibration - freeway speed

Wheel bearings could be on their way out. Any movement in the steering wheel when it does this?

    Front crank seal brand?

    I used Cummins.

Need help with 98’ brake rotors

Might as well do the unit bearings while you’re there ... pricey, but it’ll save you later down the road. They should come with new studs.

Oil Level on DIP Stick after Filter/Oil Change

Also, use the same method every time you check the oil. For example, I check it every time I fill up. I start filling my truck, then pull the dipstick and let it sit until I’m full. Then I check the oil.

Need help with 98’ brake rotors

The entire wheel unit bearing needs to be removed as the wheel studs hold the caliper and hub together. PITA for sure. You’ll want to use a press.

    removing front hubs

Why do you need the hubs loose to redo the steering?? I upgraded to the 98-99 HD set up last yeah and never needed to touch the wheel bearings/hubs.

Oil Level on DIP Stick after Filter/Oil Change

Any extra oil, the engine just throws out via the slobber tube. If you’re 2 qts. over, the issue will quickly resolve itself. And the worst case, it just froths up in the pan because the crank keeps smashing it. The bottom where the pick up tube is will be unaffected. 2 qts. is nothing in these...
