Exhaust Hiss and HEAVY Exhaust Smell After Deletes

No change in the smell or noise, just living with them. I parked next to another Ram at a fuel stop along the way, and his truck was on high-idle and sounded exactly like mine so apparently it's just how it is?

Just to follow up on initial impressions... Towed ~7klbs plus some gear/food stuffs from Eastern Washington state down to Moab, Utah over Thanksgiving. Averaged just a touch over 13mpg for the round trip cruising at a steady 65mph both directions. The truck performed flawlessly, and only...

Switched +12v Fuse That Stays Hot While Cranking??

Thanks for the replies folks!! I'll try the M35 fuse first and see if it stays hot while cranking. If not, that capacitor trick is a GREAT idea and I'll go that route instead! Thanks again!!

Switched +12v Fuse That Stays Hot While Cranking??

I'm looking for a different power source for my Mini-Maxx... the underhood fuse that I am currently piggybacked on is a switched 12V source as per the instructions, but the problem is that it always "short cycles" the programmer when I start the truck because I have to first wait for the grid...

Absolutely will. We are heading to Moab this weekend, so I'll get a good feel for how it does towing and will report on calculated mileage when we get back!

Exhaust Hiss and HEAVY Exhaust Smell After Deletes

So far I'm still on the same tank of fuel, so I can't comment on any potential increase in economy. I am, however, hopeful to see some increase...

Exhaust Hiss and HEAVY Exhaust Smell After Deletes

Thankfully no issues so far. I can't imagine what would be rattling, as it sounds like you've checked all of the things that were manipulated during the delete? Sorry I can't offer any help, or even bad advice :-laf Other than the exhaust smell, the only nitpicking I have on the whole thing is...

Exhaust Hiss and HEAVY Exhaust Smell After Deletes

Thanks a bunch for the insight. I was wondering if the hissing noise had something to do with the VGT, as it almost sounds like the exhaust brake is very lightly engaged, if that makes any sense... The noise when it's warming up now with the exhaust brake engaged is like a Hoover on steroids...

To be blunt, I wasn't sure what to expect, thus my question... Thanks for the helpful replies.

Exhaust Hiss and HEAVY Exhaust Smell After Deletes

After a several year hiatus, I am back in the diesel truck game, this time with a 2012 Megacab Laramie. When I picked it up a couple months ago, it was bone stock with ~59k miles. It rolled over 61k last week, and I went ahead and installed a Sinister EGR and throttle valve delete, as well as a...
