Just to follow up on initial impressions... Towed ~7klbs plus some gear/food stuffs from Eastern Washington state down to Moab, Utah over Thanksgiving. Averaged just a touch over 13mpg for the round trip cruising at a steady 65mph both directions. The truck performed flawlessly, and only downshifted out of OD on the steepest rollers outside of Ontario, Oregon. Pulling Soldier Summit outside of Spanish Fork, Utah was a complete non-issue and it would freely accelerate in OD even at the summit, cresting nearly 7,500ft elevation, which truly surprised me. That hill has had me in 1st gear at 20mph towing similar loads in several gas trucks over the years. Interesting enough, the pyro never hit 900 degrees, so I'm thinking the rear block-off plate must not give a very accurate representation of EGT's. I've heard people say to expect it to be ~150* cooler than at the collector pre-turbo, but based on that I was expecting to at least see 1,000* on a couple of occasions? Regardless, very happy overall with the setup, but I sure do miss the economy of my 2003 with the 5.9 and 6-speed. Same trip averaged almost 16mpg...
