    Trailer Lighting

After the above, check for continuity between the 12v pin and the running lights, same between 12v and ground. Do this without it plugged into your truck. Then check the same on the truck side. Chance are something is shorting out between those wires and it is feeding 12v in all the time.

    Is this really leather?

I believe the part for your butt and back are leather (cheap though) and the sides are vinyl. Don't worry, it will start cracking soon!

    2012 3500 CCLB SRW 4x4 Axle Ratio ?

I have a 12 with 3.73. mine is a 3500 srw. I haven't had that weight behind it yet, but it will do 12k without any issue. I wouldn't want 4.10 unless you're up much higher in gcvw .

    Newb - insight appreciated

I can't speak to the ford on maintenance. But here's my take: On my old 98 12v I did just about everything myself over the years (oil, fuel, starter, water pump, alternator, etc). It was stupid simple. On my new one, I haven't had to do much yet, but I did an oil and fuel filter change (easy...

    Newb - insight appreciated

To start, there are 33% more moving parts in the powerstroke. I'm not sure if it is too early to tell on cost of ownership. I think there are a few threads from people with over 200K on their 6.7 Cummins so you can see what's been done. It took a year or two for people to tell you to run away...

    Newb - insight appreciated

Well, the Cummins. Obviously :-) Having driven them both (I'll compare 2016 Dodge to 2017 Ford): The Dodge feels heavier on the road - to me this is a good thing. It was a little more sure footed towing a 33' airstream when being passed by a semi, or passing as semi. Fuel mileage was a bit...

    Brake controller problem

Spot on. My buddies trailer had one working brake. My truck showed disconnected. His gmc worked fine. My old truck worked fine, but again only 1 of the 4 brakes were hooked up. Because it is so finniky it shows a complete shutdown instead of powering through the bad brakes. I was not a fan. I...

UConnect with RHB and Motorola phones

Hi all, Recent purchase for me was a 2012 3500 Laramie which comes with the RHB 430N radio. I've had an issue with my Moto X Pure (xt1575) phone since I purchased it. That is, the phone will accept a call, but will not make a call over Bluetooth. If I tried to initiate a call over Bluetooth it...

    Lug nuts

I know this sounds crazy, but none of my auto parts stores or tire shops list an item style lug nut. 2012 3500 srw. Is this a dealer thing?

    1998 12v QC LB SLT Auto 4x4

I've got a '98 2500 Quad Cab. The truck has about 257k on it. I purchased it in Texas and have taken great care of it. Upon purchase I had an armor coat bedliner sprayed in and also had the rockers done in armor coating. I also cleaned the entire frame and painted with POR15 as a preventative...

Can I use my Cummins if I don't tow - My answer to a very frequent question

So the torque PID "DPF Pressure" is actually the differential, and more=better? I was reading it all wrong, thinking that more pressure=more back pressure=more clogging=needs a regen.

Can I use my Cummins if I don't tow - My answer to a very frequent question

Can anyone tell me the relation between DPF pressure and EGT1? I watched the DPF pressure rise at low throttle (but at any speed) and then drop significantly letting off the throttle. I never saw it drop significantly at 75mph with the cruise on (no trailer or anything). Basically I'm trying to...

Active Wheel Balancing Centramatic and Balance masters

AH64ID - I assume you're also running beads? I've started each of my 3 sets with weights on them. On the truck (snows and summers) I've pulled all weights off with no difference in balance. Both are about as good as to be expected considering (slight bend at the hub portion of the alloys, and...

    Questions on OEM fender flares.

Does anyone have experience with these in the winter time? I'm wondering if they catch a lot of sand and dirt and trap it between the flare and the body. And if so how hard they are to remove oe flares

Active Wheel Balancing Centramatic and Balance masters

I run the beads in both sets of tires. *I have found them to work very well for the cost. *I have been told that my rims have a slight bend at the hub, and I think that contributes to a very very minor imbalance. *Overall, I love the beads and would run them on any vehicle. *I have them in my...
