Went to dealer and complained about the dipstick. Service manager said he will get me a regular dipstick for me to take home. He showed me the paper where they actually tell the dealership to hang on to some old dipsticks for service use.....

That is exactly what they put in mine. I have another appointment next Tuesday at dealer for clock spring and seatbelt retractor. I will asked them how they intend to rectify this. 100K truck and not able to check transmission fluid level is a joke....

Got mine fixed January 6th. ( yes new dipstick and breather hose) I booked the service just before x-mas and they got the parts in under 2 weeks. My clock spring is however on backorder ( warranty) and the seatbelt retractor is on order. Should be in 2 weeks or so.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking once my warranty is up to change it. Already have 40k on it in one year so not that far off....I will research more since I live in Canada and it gets cold here, but I do park in a garage not heated so.

I saw Banks makes a replacement that gets rid of the problem but maintains the heater function

Having the some problem right now. My steering wheel also had some resistance in turning and still does. I think mine is related to something inside the steering wheel. Heater was not working then worked and now if you turn it on it turns off in 2 seconds. Have an appointment on the January 6th...
