As an update, I tried the eraser wheel today. It didn’t work. I instead scraped as much as I could an then used a bronze bristle wheel on a bench grinder. It worked pretty well. It didn’t remove all of the silicone, enough to make a smooth surface though. I used the Mopar sealant.

So, the MIL light coming on before starting is normal. Does the flashing light lead you to believe that there is a possible battery or voltage issue?
