What's actually in the 2008 Tow Package?

Just curious. Is the electronic brake wiring already in the cab? Are the oil, transmission and radiators different? How about batteries and charging systems? I've done searches and it seems to be a magical secret. Thanks, Rich

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Question regarding intake manifold

Get that thing off your truck as fast as possible. Buy a 49 state intake from Piers, or maybe get one off a junk yard 95. The one I got from Piers is chrome. He also has a little plate to cover the location at the exhaust valve. Your truck will feel better and wake up. Mine was a pig before...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Thanks Folks - And a good day.

Finally got off my butt and worked on my front end yesterday. It's a 1996 2500 Club Cab Auto. It has D25 springs (2" lift). I replaced the ball joints and converted the Y to a T. After reading tons of scary stuff I was mentally prepared for the worst. But, the ball joints went pretty smooth. The...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Generator light on

Yes, If the shaft is pretty bad I suppose that's best. I found a local place here in So Cal that does good work on alternators. I'm sure you can find that up where you're at too. If you're in a pinch, you can probably just do brushes for a short term deal. Best of luck, Rich

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Generator light on

Hi Howard/Crupper, They are in fact rebuildable. You do need to be careful about shaft wear when the brushes go bad. See the following link... http://www.fixinrams.com/id12.html LarryB carries the brushes too. http://www.fostertruck.com/alternators.htm Rich

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Southern Cali Help

Hi All, I'm looking for someone to speak with on maybe doing some work on my '96. She's got 270K, and has been a great truck. The vitals are an 4" exhaust, auto with a triple lock and mystery switch, a 49 state intake (helped the most - did this a few years ago), and a 230/605 TST Plate...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission headlight problems while going from hi to low

My 96 has done this on a curvy, two lane highway, while towing a trailer. It was just about time for an underwear change. I'm happy to see this thread, as I have always wondered if I was the only one. Someone is gonna get injured on this one. Rich

Skyjacker D25's and Bilsteins are in

As an fyi: My installation of D25's causes my truck to lean slighty toward the driver side. Irritates me to no end. Rich

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Better brake rotors?

I have the Autospecialty Cross Drilled Rotors. I've had them for over a 100K with excellent results. I really like their 911 severe duty pads too. Good Luck, Rich

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Air Defrost/Panel/Floor Switch

Open your hood and look for a small diameter black vacuum line (it's sort of has a hard plastic feel to it) running across the top of the engine wall, around the hood seal. Mine had a very obvious hole worn in it. Just run your fingers across it and you'll feel it. Good Luck, Rich

    OBDII : http://www.autoenginuity.com

This looks most interesting. I wonder if it would be worth getting for the 96 Dodge CTD? Seems like we would need the extended package that's yet available. Rich

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) total brake failure!

I have personally boiled my fluid once. I was up on a Mountain, letting a girlfriend and her kids coast down a very long road that went to the bottom. I was unloaded, and apparently had my foot on the brake for most of the time. At the bottom of the hill, after loading the bikes, I went to put...

Anyone make a spacer for the driver side. Since I installed the springs my truck is in fact leaning ever so slightly towards the driver side. Much appreciated, Rich
