I have a friend with a 2001 2500 Q. C. ETC 4x4. The first week he had his truck, he could smell diesel when he stopped. Took it to the dealer and the injector pump was leaking. The dealer replaced the pump. Everthing has been fine since. I hope this helps.

The number 4. 10 is the ratio of how many rotations the pinion has to make for 1 rotation of the ring gear. With 4. 10 meaning the pinion will make 4. 10 revolutions to the ring gears 1 revolution. It has nothing to do with the original size tires that came on the truck. If a truck...
Could you tell me what the original tire size that came with the truck has to do with the gear ratio? Are you saying that a truck with 245's has a different ratio ring and pinion than the the truck with the 265's?
Is the aftermarket transmission pan from Mopar, with drain plug and sending unit plug, the same depth or deeper than the stock 47RE pan? Is it a good replacement for the stock 47RE pan?

Does anybody know what kind of effect this trouble code should have on my truck.
As I said earlier, my truck seems to be running fine.

I was reading some posts on trouble codes and how to retrieve them. Being curious I performed the "turning the key on and off" procedure. To my surprise a code popped up. The code was P0500.
I was wondering if anybody knows what this code is? My truck runs great.
