It would be worth checking to make sure the fuel shut off solenoid is pulling up all the way when the truck is running. This is rare be a commonly over looked item. When truck is running try to see if plunger will move further into solenoid. If it does, it's a good possibly it's the problem.

GSaltzman Lonestar and Tomeygun are on the right track. Injectors will cause rough idle but not idle surge. The fcv is what regulates fuel deliver and inconstant fuel pressure delivery will cause idle surge. If the problem is inconstant it maybe harder to prove but fcv is more like it.

You could very very carefully apply compressed air in the boost line from the engine side. Have someone watch to see if the guage will read psi and also check for leaks at same time. It won't take much psi to move needle.

What did you set the hp setting on the edge kit? Is your pyrometer sensor in the exhaust manifold? Was 1200 degrees under load? Exhaust temp seems a little high. I have seen about 32psi of boost under full load on the highest hp setting.
