    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Loose automatic shifter 2001 model - Shifter Bushings?

Thanks for the tips. I'll check the linkage and my ball and report results. By the way, I previoously posted that I had to repolace the VP. So I did and installed a Glasier system; SWEET! That thing is solid delivering 18 psi whithout any signs of dropping pressure even at full throttle. I...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Loose automatic shifter 2001 model - Shifter Bushings?

Maybe you folks know this problem well enough: The automatic shifter for my 2001 2500 is feeling a bit loose. In particular it appears to be growing slop on 2nd gear. 1st gear is tight, but shifting to second it feels like the shifter is floating almost to 3rd. I think the bushings must...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fass or glacier lift pump?????????????

The Glasier pump connects to the original fuel filter. The old LP (Carter) is just bypassed. What we did is keep the old carter lines in place and installed plugs on them so that if the Glasier (Wasbro) fails on me I can easily reconnect the lines of the Carter LP and switch connectors. JC

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Glacier GFS-392...Major problems after install!

From what I been reading the II HRVP44 is a high performance IP, if you are moding your truck it will probably work great, but if you are running it close to stock I would stick to a stock pump. From what I read Blue Chip's high end rebuild is the shisnitz, but at $1600 it is a bit too pricey...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fass or glacier lift pump?????????????

I just installed a new VP and a Glasier kit with the "big hose" kit that goes from the filter to the VP. I returned a FASS so that I could get the Glasier system. The way it was plumbed, if the Glasier fails I can use the old stock Carter LP. Also, if a glasier pump fails, the replacement is...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Just bought an Edge Comp, advice on settings?

I just replaced my VP and installed a Glasier LP system, but because I just got the VP (from Industrial Injection) I did not re-install (clip into the wire) the Edge Comp. I would like to sell the Edge Comp and buy a system I do not have to tap into; any advice? How much could I get for a year...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) '02 VP44 Failures, kind of long.

Add me to the list of dead pumps! '01 (feb model) and the pump started failing around 55K miles very little towing. Due to my ignorance and the dealers weaseling around, they just changed the LP and sent me home just to have the LP fail after another 8 months. Now I am 1 month after my 5yr...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Glacier GFS-392...Major problems after install!

I am installing a new VP 44 from Industrial Injection as well as the Glasier system with a big hose kit to the VP. I will also instal a pre-filter that I bought from Richard at Glasier; although I like DMannon's setup better because you can see if you have crud in the line. I'll report back...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Glacier GFS-392...Major problems after install!

BTowler, What did Rich at Glasier say? I just bought a system from him (392) and I am about to install it next week. I remember talking to him and he mentioned that the pump can be adjusted to provide 15 psi by removing a washer/spacer inside the pump. I am wondering how is this related to...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) VP 44 Or LP Problems? Speak Out!

Add me to the lust of failer LP and IP... :-{} with 72K miles. Truck is going on the block. TDR should run a tally of how many folks out here suffere from the same problem.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Any Suggestions? Codes P0216, P1693

Hey Red Stroke, you might want to change your call sign to Red Streak, as this is the mark you'll have on your walled after all that bleeding you'll do to pay for those darn pumps! :) I feel your pain, I am going through the same with my truck. Don't feel bad, my buddy has gone through 4 LP's...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) B20 enough lubricity?

Talking about jelling, I live in Colorado and have jelled twice in winter using bio. I have to admit it was cold as heck. The mix I run varies as I would put in 10 gallons of 100 and 25 g of diesel or at times 50/50. I think this might have caused an early LP failure... A neighrbor of mine ran...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel woes - mayday, mayday, code 216!!

OK, I bit the bullet and jumped horses; I went for the FASS sytem. I got a good deal from VULCAN which had the cleanable screen and adaptors to mount directly onto the FASS system. I'll eventually drop the tank and check in there and see what crawls out of there... I am planning on first...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel woes - mayday, mayday, code 216!!

Excellent read. I will be dropping the tank and checking it out... and the inline screen seems like a good approach to monitor the crud going thru the lines. good advice. The more I read the crazier it's getting to maintain a diesel truck... enzymes to kill bacteria, prefilters, replace...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel woes - mayday, mayday, code 216!!

OK, I ordered a stock LP, but I am thinking that I might need a pusher pump and maybe a nev VP44 :( . (this is on a truck with 70K miles, and I already changed one LP) What to get and from whom? I am tempted by the Blue Chip, although now I heard about the HR44VP... both run around $1600...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) My new HRVP 44

OK, I read about the SMARTY, but how about the difference between the Blue Chip and HRVP? Is the high performance pump worth the extra $ and is its reliability just as good as a plain VP?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) My new HRVP 44

Gentlemen, could you please educate me regarding the HRVP44 and the Smarty? I am about to buy a new VP44 (code 216 and all... ) and was considering the Blue Chip, but now that I am reading your thread I see the 2700 RPM limit on the FedEx programmed (Blue Chip) VP's. What's the difference and...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Diesel engines and high altitude????

Your mileage is great, I run up and down Magnolia Rd (by Boulder Canyon) which is a 3000 foot climb and get about 14 mi/g. Smoke... maybe more, but again I am having a failing fuel system. DaGoat

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel woes - mayday, mayday, code 216!!

After reading Blue Chips articles it makes me want to buy his IP. Is it worth the extra $? I have seen the rebuilt pumps for $1150, but his argument seems to justify the extra $450. I also like the idea of the connector saver they sell... The more I read, the more I think my issues are...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel woes - mayday, mayday, code 216!!

I am surprised of how common this problem is. With a truck with less than 70K miles, I am down to 2 LP's and maybe an injector pump... does not leave much for trust. I guess I'll have to keep spares handy. I am leaning to get a pusher pump with the stock pump. The reason is that I am...
