We have an 01' 3500 5 speed that I had just talked my boss into putting the EZ on last Monday. I got a call from my Foreman at midnight last night, telling me the clutch was out. After stopping to fuel up, the truck would not go into gear, any gear. He started it in 1st, and made his way into San Francisco shifting without a clutch. This morning, he found a dealer to take it to. He tried the clutch once more before leaving the motel, and it worked
He called the dealership to tell them to cancel his appointment, and the SM told him the transmission probably overheated. Once again
I'm no mechanic, but I haven't the slitest idea what overheating a manual transmission would do to the clutch. Any ideas? I will take it to the local dealer this week when the truck gets back, but was just curious is anyone has had or heard of this problem.
Thanks,
LK
