I can't get the ball joints out of the axle knuckles. I am hammering on them with a air hammer and they are not moving at all. I sprayed them up and am going to let them sit over night and them tackle them again. Any thoughts??
I used a ball joint press I rented from autozone for the job. Took a little time to figure out how to make it work but once I did the job went smoothly. I replaced joints on my '02 after three years and only 28K miles. It took me a whole day to finish one side and less than half that time to do the other. I also sprayed everything with PB blaster oil two days before I started and I bought the joint kit without tools from quad 4X4.

I used a Porto-Power from a rental shop in my area. Had to make a few adapters from some 1 1/2" and 2" nipples (i`m a plumber, comes in handy) worked out well. TTT has a good idea with that press tho...
I finally got them out. Went and rented a ball joint press from autozone and it worked good for 3 of them. The last one (bottom Pass) was a bear to get out. finally beat on it enough that it did come out. Thanks for the help TDR
