Greeting's at the risk of sounding dumb I have a 01 3500 4X4 how and where do the front wheel bearing get their lubrication, unfortanetly I do not have a service manual. I had some wacky dream that my front diff. was empty,I even went as far as to check it and it was fine. Thanks Mike
the front bearings are unit bearings and "lubed for life" . there isn't an easy way to grease them. when they go bad you just replace them. And your front axle is a Dana 60 not a 44
Yea you can't lube the wheel bearings but you can jack up the truck and try to shake the wheel, if they move and you see its the hub then the bearing is bad. Or if it squeeks, growls, or gets really smoking hot.
They are not made to lube but you can lube them if you really want too. I have a few hundred thousand miles on mine and they are still going. I added grease fittings so I no longer have to worry about them burning up on me some place far from home. See info on this project at the bottom of my mods page below if interested.
