Approaching an intersection, truck started running on what felt like 4 cylinders and extreme loss of power, within 45 seconds it cleared up and ran find. I drove about 4 miles to the house with no problems. Truck set about 10 minutes, I cranked it up, backed out of driveway, made it about 200 yards and it started running like before but this time died. After sitting about 10 minutes I spun the engine over about 25 seconds and it started but the check engine light is on. Anyone know what my problem might be?

BTW: It has an Edge EZ installed. Fuel filter changed 3k ago.

Check the engine for codes. You can do that by turning the ignition on, off, on, off, on (with out starting). The odometer will flash p codes for the PCM, then for the ECM. You probably have a p0216, p1688, or p1689. If you have any of these, than a new Injeciton Pump is on your future.

Let us know what you find.

Truck is running but I haven't taken it out on the road under load, I also pulled the EZ, was running before pulling the EZ.

When I pulled the EZ off I reconnected the MAP Sensor but could not find what to hook the Data Link to. It has been so long since I installed the EZ I don't remember if I had to disconnect the Data Link from anything. The truck is running so?

I will be taking the truck to a local repair shop in the morning.

well i do not know if this is related but i also have been getting p1689 ,p0215 and p1693 for the last 60 days or so. engine has been running ok until last night when it died at a light but restarted ok. f. p. was ok as i"m on the 4th one and have westec gauges. only mod is 4" exhaust and e-z. one night i lost all gauges on the dash and got "no bus" on odometer. i disconnected the e-z in hopes this will all go away. or perhaps i should start saving for a vp44?

Shaun, while I've had no problems with my Dodge I had a simular problem with a GMC I owned. It turned out to be a broken battery post. Hope this helps.

By the way I'm just south of you, on Vashon. Will be heading up your way this summer when the humpy's get here!

Good luck- Mark

This is exactly what my 2000 did, My lift pump had died. If you can get a fuel pressure guage on it and see if the pump has any pressure. I waited too long and ended up damaging the VP44. It would stall, light the chk eng light with P1693. Then it would run fine, the light would go off after a couple of days and several weeks later do it again. Then one evening it started running real rough and could barely move under its own power.

Lift Pump

Local repair shop pulled the stored codes. I don't remember what they (2 codes) were but the main codes was low fuel pressure. I will be ordering a lift pump Monday morning.

Thanks for all the info.
