01 auto transmission not shifting out of 1st

It has only happened 2wice since I installed my Comp box about 3k miles ago :( . Seems to happen when transmission temp is hot. Each time i'll pull over for a min or 2 & alls well again for a month or so. Any ideas? Is this a quick fix or is it leading to somthing worse and more expensive down the road. Any help is appreciated.

I had a customer in Tehachepi that had the same problem, changed the transmission,( he already bought one from Georand) but left the bd exhaust brake stuff and the speed sensor on it. Changed them and its been fine since. My bet was the speed sensor. It's located in the O/D section of the trans and takes a 1 inch wrench to remove and replace it.

I had the same problem last year. It was a solnoide. Then about 2 months after that the metal tab that hold the second gear band broke off. After that I just had a trans built for me. .

Mine was shifting late out of first and it was worse when it was hot. It was the governor solenoid. The transmission shop put a pressure gauge on it to determine that was the problem

Well it happened again today. I was goint out to get lunch and it wouldnt shift out of 2nd this time. The transmission temp was under 100* when it happened. After lunch I hopped back in and it was working fine, like it never happened.

I had the same problem. My transmission guy checked the codes and determined that the solenoid was shot. There are evidently two different solenoids. He recommended changing them both at once. Quick fix.
