My 2002 4x4 3500 recently developed a rather noticeable vibration at highway speeds, 60+ MPH. She's got over 75K on her now and as far as I know, the front end is still factory issued. I bought it with just over 17K on it back in '03.

It doesn't go offroad much but I'm afraid the highways are bad enough around here. I don't detect any "clunking" in the steering system yet nor are the tires wearing abnormally. It does seem to wander a bit more than it used to though.

I crawled underneath the truck last night and had the wife rotate the steering wheel from side to side and sure enough, I could see/feel movement in the frame end of the track bar. So, judging by what I've read here, it's gone.

Should I also be considering replacing the tie rods as well?

Probably go with the '03 track bar system upgrade as I don't intend to lift the truck to go with the Thuren bar.

Thanks!

My friend, you are all over this potential problem, and are a genius. Get it under control before the insidious 'Death Wobble' rears it's ugly head and you have your lovely wife in the truck with you.

Nice job. I would replace/upgrade all components I THOUGHT might become a problem.
