Forgive me everyone, for I am a little new here. I have been reading lots of threads about the VP44 (fuel pump?) and the lift pump (pusher pump) being the major wink links on the CTD, and going to an early grave. I don’t mind so much with them going out, that’s why I financed the extended warranty, it is just that there is little to no warning of impending death, and it doesn’t sound like there is a way to “limp home”. I have just two little questions.
1. Just how many pumps are there in the fuel system from the tank to the cylinders?
2. Do the ‘02s have a history with these pump failures?
