I recently had my LP replaced (first the intank LP, and then added a secondary LP) I also had the LED fuel pressure alarm installed.

Just for the heck of it, I went out tonight and looked to see if I had any codes. Well, I have the 0216 code. Doesnt look very good.

Now, I have not had the check engine light come on, and the truck runs well. Could the 0216 code just have been set when they installed one or both of the lift pumps, or when they installed the LED ? And just has to go past so many starts to be cleared ?

If that is the case, is there a way to manually clear the code, and see if it comes up again ?

Thanks,

TRat

start saving up for a new pump. It will be a while, but the truck will start to lose power when you pull long grades or weight behind you.

0216 = Injection Pump Timing Failure.

One of my dying 0216 pumps had MULTIPLE scanner clears and it would be back within 5 miles regardless of whether I had symptoms such as dead peddle, etc.

IMO, you need a new VP 44. Are you feeling luckey? ;)

Mine had the same symptoms as 24V-DSL. Many codes and multiple clears. Finally had to replace the VP. It went on like that for nearly a year though. Some die fast, some hang on.

Funny, it didnt show up until after the lp was replaced and beefed up. I wonder if the higher fuel pressure could have just pushed it over the edge.

Well, Im going to make an appt to take my truck to the dealer for the 0216 code. Its only got about 50k miles on it, and about 2 months left on the 5 year warrantee.

Just as a precaution, Im going to remove the ez box before I go to the dealer. However, in addtion to the in-tank LP that the dealer installed under warrantee a couple of months ago, I now also have a pusher pump. Can anyone tell me if the "3rd party" pusher pump might void my warrantee, or at least make the dealer try to void the warrantee ?

Thanks,

TRat
