Guys,

My truck has been hesitating recently and I have been linking it to my EZ. I removed the EZ and it continues.

It only occurs at about 60mph, 2100 rpms and when the truck is near 0 throttle. It has just started blue smoking some during the hestiation.

Well, you guessed it, I checked the codes and have a 0216 set.

I have a 1400 mile trip this coming week towing our 10k 5ver.

I suppose resetting the code does very little. Could there be an electrical issue causing it?

Should I attempt this trip under this condition?

I want my momma!!

Thanks!

Chris

Just got the truck back from the dealer because of the 0216 code. They ended up replacing the injection pump and lift pump. Only took them 3 weeks to get it done right. Well sort of right.

When mine went out it went slowly. It first started doing it when I was on a trip about 1200 miles from home. Got home fine. It was very intermitant and required very specific conditions for it to act up. Actually had to take a couple more 900 mile trips before it got fixed. Mainly becasue dodge wouldnt cover the warranty becasue they couldn't duplicate the problem. They said if the codes come back bring it in (the service writer and the mechanic both were sure it was the pump but star would not authorize the fix). I asked if they were going to pay the tow bill if she died on the road and I got a big no. Got about 2 hours down the road when the codes came back. As soon as I got it back to town took it in and they authorized the fix but I had to wait a week for the pump to come in. It was definitely doing it more often by then but was still quite drivable. If you take the trip you are taking a chance of the pump totally crapping out but in my case it didn't.
