Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 0216 gone

A while back I replied to a 0216 thread, that I had the code for several thousand miles. It's been over 5000 miles since I originally found the code, and now its gone. The truck shows no signs of a problem. I may not be out of the woods yet, but I'm very curious as to what happened here.

The codes usually disappear after a set number of engine cycles, as long as the original cause isn't repeated.

Possibly cooler temps outside? I would drive at @80 deg and throw a code but when reset and going to the coast @60 deg no probablem until i returned home.
