I have been thinking about a clutch for my 03. With the sled pulls, light towing that I do, and the constant need for more power... . I don't think the stock clutch will be around much longer. I would like to do this once and get it out of the way so I can spend money on smoke makers and spinny things.

What has been done so far, what works, what sucks. I like the looks of the SBC Dual disk... . However I have not spent the time to call anyone to see if (or how) it will work for what I do. Any ideas or words of wisdom?

SBC DD

Since the transmission is virtually unchanged from the 2nd gen trucks there are already plenty of heavy clutches. You already list SBC, but McCloud, Haisley, and EEP all have dual disks, too. The transmission itself is pretty much indestructible in stock form, so a good clutch from any of these companies will put all the power to the ground. I've heard good things from the SBC DD, but I don't think it's approved for sled pulling... could have changed though.

I recently purchased a SBC dual disc, but havent installed it yet. i dont really need to until my goodies get here. i am about the same way i havent talked to too many people about them but the ones i did they definetely recommended it. i was told it feels almost like a factory clutch on the pedal and is very streetable. i will let u know when i get it in.

Most definately keep us informed. I plan on stopping the bombing at the TST box. I pull 15,000 lbs around the east coast and like the feel of the stock clutch but I realize that its days are numbered when the box goes in.

i believe the clutch is going into my truck sunday. and the best part is i dont have to touch it. my big bro(01_H0) owes me that since i swapped my dtt out of my truck and into his 98 12v for free. i would help him anyhow but have to work. too bad :)
