'03 and 3rd world diesel.

I spoke today to a guy with an '03 ST 4wd,manual transmission who just returned from an extended trip to Central America all the way to Honduras and back. Truck never missed a beat. Toyo Mt's performed great with zero flats,etc. Stock filters,air,fuel&oil,pulling an 8,000# trailer no less. Diesel averaged $1. 95. Good news for anyone sitting on the fence concerning reliability w/alternative diesel supplies.

Our diesels are not as fragile as make them out to be sometimes. I've spent some time in Honduras and Nicaraugua. We have done some construction projects through the foreign mission board. Most of our driving was in the remote areas of the countries. There, we would pour diesel from 55 gallon drums into 5 gallon buckets and use a funnel to get it into the tank of the Toyotas we were driving.

That's the first time I had seen a 4 door toyota diesel. They are just like a timex. They take a beating and just keep on going. Last year in Nicaraugua, I drove an Isuzu turbocharged diesel. It ran good and had plenty of power, just a little small for me.
