Can anyone tell me if the stock hydraulics used roll pins or cotter pins to secure the assembly as it came from the factory on an '03 with the 5600 trans? TIA!

I don't fully understand your question... . if your asking if there was some shipping pin that had to be removed by the dealer, the answer is no... . nothing is done to modify, or predelivery the clutch from the time it left the factory...

The end of the slave cylinder has a round pin that pushes the fork in the bell housing and the only roll pins that can be used are on the quick connectors that hold the lines to the master cylinder and slave cylinder on some installations... . these are not used except to change those parts if necessary...

At the time the slave cylinder is shipped in a box, it has a plastic strap that keeps the rod pushed into the slave against spring pressure and once the slave is install this strap breaks... . the plastic button on the end of the rod is attached and stays in place... .

Hope this helps.....

The quick connectors are what I am wondering about... shop that is trying to straighten out the 5600 in the truck now says it appears somebody along the way messed around with the set up because there are cotter pins in their now, all they ever seen before were roll pins from the factory. Have had this rig since new and I've never messed with the set up myself, neither has my buddies shop where a majority of the :) 6 speed swapping has been going on. Personally I don't see why when the trans gets warm it would only be hard to get into 1st, 2nd, and R and not the other gears, more opinions welcome !
