I have noticed a few pictures of 03's dashboard where the seat heater switches are. Some have a small compartment between the seat heater switches. The 03's I see on the lots now have two dummy switches between the two working ones. When did this change? I was told my ordered 3500 will have the two dummy switches. Is there an option that would use these dummy switches? I would rather have the small compartment.

Got mine in November and it has the dummy switches. I haven't seen what you described. I've seen either a cubby and no switches at all (no heated seats) or the heated seat switches and two dummy switches with no cubby.

Mine has seat heat switches with a cubby.

From the looks of it -

Laramie + Bun toasters + 4WD = dummy switches w/ no cubby

Laramie + Bun toasters + 2WD = NO dummy switches w/ cubby

Just my observations... .

I want a bun cooler, I don't recall it getting cold enough to bother me in the winter. But parking a black RAM in the sun, well that gets a little toasty on the thighs... Luckily I park in a garage at work...

03 Seat Heater Switches

Here in N. Calif all the ones I have seen on Dealer lots (most seem to be made last Fall or Dec/Jan) the Seat Heater Switches are on the sides of the seats near to the Power Seat Controls and there is a full Compartment with NO switches at all!

I noticed that the Dodge Ram brochure shows no compartment, two Seat Heater Switches and two Dummy Switches (A magnifying glass helps!) I presume it was printed sometime last Summer.

The pictures of the Seat Heater Switches AND a small Compartment is a neat compromise! My CTD Laramie is "supposed to" be trucked the dealer today so I am curious to see what I will get! (Assembled around May 5th)

Heard from the Dealer

I have a 4x4 so I don't have the compartment, but I do have the heated seats and the dummy switches, when I asked the Dealer why the dummies where there, he told me that at one time Dodge was going to offer an option of massage seats, but after further review, decided against it.

???????

It would be nice, however, if they offered switches that we could put in there to operate lights and other accessories. Does anyone know of such?
