03 developed a vibration- any thoughts?

I have an 03 2500 5. 9HO 4x4 6spd.

At 30,000mi. it has developed this vibration that was first real noticlable at low speeds ( under 20mph). I notice it now at most speeds like when I'm running 60mph @ 1800rpm. I've checked tire wear and I did my diff. oil changes a few thousand miles (4 mos. ) ago.

Any thoughts or solutions before I take it to the dealer?

Anyone else have this problem?

I would suspect that it's a u-joint giving you the bad vibe.

Sounds like what I had when my rear u-joint was on it's way out.

I have 50k miles on my '03 single wheel 1 ton. I had to replace all seven u-joints between 35k and 48k. First to go was rear joint on rear driveshaft. All kinds of vibrations. Worst vibrations came from front joint on front drive shaft. Rear view mirror would shake at 65mph and up. Very frustrating working with dealer to replace seven u-joints in five visits.

I second all these opinions that it's the U-joints. Let us know what happens with the dealer (I forget... are U-joints covered under the 7/70?)...

Hi Ryan, How's things in Dayton?? Hope your not having U Joint trouble yet?? ha I have 15 K on my 03 and i don't want to hear of these things going out at 50 k or so. . Like you said i wonder if these are covered after the 36 k warranty is over?? Radar Doc

U/joints are part of the powertrain warranty.

Good luck. Dealer had my truck 2 weeks to replace u-joint. Covered under warranty, but could not locate parts. .
