This is y-knot's exact quote from another post talking about 4 wheel steering in 05 where he brought up a few things Dodge could do to improve their trucks: "Maybe a true crew cab would be nice. How about some more seating options, captains chairs, or a seat that feels good".

We all have our wants and I will leave it up to my wife to decide what a real man is.

y-knot, consider yourself flamed!

Darned if I can figure out what noise and discomfort have to do with being a "real man", either. I guess I must have some issues that I didn't know about before:rolleyes: ;) .

Well weather it had anything to do with ones "manhood" or not, I atleast got a stir out of a otherwise docile crowd. It's good to ruffle the feathers now and then, kind of gets the blood moving, don't you think??

Blood moving affects my manhood more than noise does, y-knot? :D ;)

I like that great diesel character too. Noise never bothered me much but listening to the horn all day or night and the noise of 10,320 cubic inches of V-16 locomotive engine (earplugs get old) and QUIET starts to sound real good. I don't need it to be silent but it doesn't need to make racket like an old Mack either!

I want to get a new 4WD truck that is:

1) Quiet,

2) has a CTD in it,

3) Is low enough to hook up a 5er behind it

4) Has a GVWR of over 9000 lbs.

5) 4 doors

6) Power towing mirrors

Dodge can provide all but number 3). I have no idea how any of these requests have any bearing on my male anatomy.

Maybe a new topic in the "other" section. "What is a real man?"

The trailer manufacturer can help you out with #3. I had my present trailer built up 3" at the factory you can get a Mor-Ride suspension that gives you 4" to play with. Extended hitches and flipped axels work for some as well. My 96 HitchHiker II had the "Dodge Package" which were the flipped axles.

My 5er was built with the axles already flipped. Point is, I would rather have the whole combo a lot lower. I like the way that the Chevy 4WD's look, but won't consider them because of the engine. They still have plenty of ground clearance for the type of driving I do.

I am agreeing with Klenger, I would like to lower my 4x4 just a couple of inches to fit my trailer better. I don't take this rig off road, I have another truck for that, and I wanted 4x4 "just in case" of bad weather, snow, etc... I would rather have it and not need it then not have it and need it. Been there done that! The wife doesn't understand it untill it happens. John

This might not be practical for some, but I had my last trailer built with my trucks height in mind. They raised the deck height or platform height were the trailer goes over the bed, this allowed for a more normal(level) ride.
