03 HO-Auto Exhaust Brake Questions...

My neighbor just bought a 03 HO DRW 3500 with the 48RE and he wants to install an exhaust break. The local dealer quoted him $1300 to install one. I dont know what brand and this is without any sort of transmission controller. They said it wouldnt void his warranty. I told him thats fine in town but if he's out on the road and the transmission goes TU, the nearest dealer might not be friendly and his warranty would be hosed. So he wanted me to find some literature on DC's position on exhaust breaks and dealer discresion on installing these things. Also whats the best exhaust break for on 03, BD, Jacobs PacBrake? And whats the best way to use it most effectively? transmission controller or any bolt on things that hold lockup a little longer without hurting the trans. He doesnt want a mystery switch.

It may not void his warranty at that dealership but another might.

I would think that if the dealer installs the exhaust brake it should not effect his warranty. I would have the installing dealer give me in writing that it would not effect the warranty, at least this way he MAY have some recourse.
