Is there any source for stock replacement '03 Lift Pumps? I am over 80K miles and would love to have a spare or two... just in case.

Thanks,

Mickey

Another option would be to buy a used OEM pump off another member who is upgrading as a precaution. I sold my factory pump to a guy who runs hotshot loads around the country and wanted an OEM spare.

Be advised that changing the factory lift pump on the side of a highway would be no fun. It's buried behind the filter canister, and your best access would be pulling the front driver's side tire and inner wheel liner. You will need an allen wrench for pulling the 4 mounting bolts, but two of them are hidden on the passenger side of the pump and are done by feel.

The Glacier Walbro system is a much better way to go. In addition to all of the pump advantages, it mounts under the frame and is much more accessible in the unlikely event it would fail. Plus, you can buy a spare Walbro to carry with you for only $120.

Just a FYI, your still covered under the engine warranty, 5/100,000. They will replace your stock lift pump with an in-tank lift pump which have proven to be just as reliable as the pumps in your gas vehicles.

Thanks for the information... looking at the Glasier solution, I like the idea of an accessable pump, maybe use the 20K miles left in my warrantee to save up for the pump and filter combination!
